DARRYL SPOTLIGHT-NEW

Our employees are the foundation of our award-winning workplace culture and excellent customer service. We are proud to have these people as a part of our Jarrett team.

We'd like to introduce you to Darryl Truitt, Assistant Logistics Coordinator here at Jarrett. Read his answers to the questions below to find out more about Darryl!

How long have you been at Jarrett?

I've been at Jarrett since September 17th, 2019

What is the best part of working in your department?

There are two aspects of working in Operations that I enjoy the most. The first is the interpersonal relationships you get to foster with clients - finding ways to "spoil" them even if it's just a little bit more. The other awesome thing about working in Operations is the adrenaline of navigating the unexpected...nay...GUARANTEED curve ball you're bound to encounter in shipping.

If you weren’t in operations what job would you have?

If I weren't working in Operations, I think I would enjoy HR.

Favorite memory at Jarrett so far?

I'm building some lasting memories already, but one that stands out is decorating the lunch area with the Christmas decor with Betsy, Kelly, and Sherri.

Who has been a mentor for you here at Jarrett? How have they helped you?

Time for some shoutouts!

My entire team has mentored me at some point on some aspect of the business. If I were to narrow it down though, Tracy Hensley and Christina Sweigert have been more beneficial than words can say with my on-boarding process and navigating the intricacies of 26 clients.

What would you name the autobiography of your life?

I wear my jeans inside out: the introverted-extrovert.

What is one skill you wish you had?

I wish I were a dog whisperer! Hands Down!

If you could learn to do anything, what would it be?

I would love to learn to be a Master Sommelier...and Space - anything related with the Cosmos.

What chore do you wish would do itself?

Well...not a chore...but Driving! Coming from New York, I really don't enjoy driving. One could be doing so many other things.

What fictional character would you be?

I would be the young boy (at the end of the book) in The Alchemist.
