Summary:
Critical fire weather conditions will continue across Southern California through this morning. Winds will begin to taper off this afternoon and into Saturday. A winter storm will continue to bring accumulating snow from eastern Oklahoma through the Mid-South and southern Appalachians, and ice accumulation across southern Arkansas through parts of the Southeast through Saturday morning. Impacted Lanes: I-90, I-5, I-84, I-15, I-10, I-94, I-25, I-80, I-70, I-20, I-35, I-40, I-44, I-49, I-70, I-55, I-64, I-30, I-57, I-74, I-72, I-22, I-59, I-65, I-85, I-75, I-26, I-95, I-24, I-77, I-81, I-69, I-96, I-71, I-79, I-76


Tennessee
Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 11:59 PM CST this evening

  • Heavy snow. Total snow accumulations between 5 and 8 inches with locally higher amounts.
  • Impacts: Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will likely become slick and hazardous. Travel could be very difficult. The hazardous conditions could impact the Friday morning and evening commutes.

Wind Advisory remains in effect until 9 PM EST this evening

  • Southerly winds increasing to 15 to 30 mph with gusts to 45 mph.
  • Impacts: Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

California
High WInd Warning remains in effect until 2 PM PST this afternoon

  • Northeast winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 60 mph.
  • Impacts: Damaging winds could blow down trees and power lines. Power outages are possible. Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Winds this strong will make driving difficult, especially for drivers of high profile vehicles.

WInd Advisory remains in effect until 2 PM PST this afternoon

  • Northeast winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 50 mph.
  • Impacts: Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

Ohio
Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 4 AM EST Saturday morning

  • Snow expected. Total snow accumulations of two to four inches.
  • Impacts: Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the Friday evening commute.

Oregon
Freezing Fog Advisory remains in effect until 10 AM PST this morning

  • Visibility as low as one quarter mile in freezing fog.
  • Impacts: Low visibility could make driving conditions hazardous. Some roads may be slick under freezing fog as well.

Wind Advisory remains in effect until 1 AM PST Saturday morning

  • West winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph expected.
  • Impacts: Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

Dense Fog Advisory remains in effect until 10 AM PST this morning

  • Visibility one quarter mile or less in dense fog.
  • Impacts: Low visibility in fog could make driving conditions hazardous.

Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 4 AM PST Saturday morning

  • Snow expected. Total snow accumulations between 6 and 10 inches. Winds gusting as high as 45 mph.
  • Impacts: Roads will likely become slick and hazardous. Periods of moderate and heavy snow will combine with low visibilities to create difficult driving conditions. Gusty winds could cause blowing snow.
