Clipper systems will track across the northern tier of the country through Friday. Snow showers, a few squalls are expected for the northern Plains and Rockies with lake effect snow downwind of the Great Lakes. Dry conditions and gusty winds continue for Southern California with trends of some wet weather arriving this weekend. An atmospheric river event will impact Alaska with heavy precipitation. Montana
Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 11 PM MST this evening
- Heavy snow. Additional snow accumulations between 2 and 5 inches. Winds gusting as high as 35 mph.
- Impacts: Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will likely become slick and hazardous.
Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 8 PM MST this evening
- Snow expected. Total snow accumulations between 2 and 5 inches.
- Impacts: Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning and evening commute today.
New York
Lake Effect Snow Warning remains in effect until 7 AM EST Saturday morning
- Heavy lake effect snow. Additional snow accumulations 5 to 10 inches in the most persistent lake snows.
- Impacts: Travel will be difficult at times. The hazardous conditions will impact this mornings commute and possibly this evenings as well.
Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 11:59 PM EST this evening
- Snow. Additional snow accumulations 3 to 6 inches.
- Impacts: Travel may be difficult at times. The hazardous conditions will impact this mornings commute and possibly this evenings as well.
Wyoming
High Wind Warning remains in effect until 2 PM MST this afternoon
- West winds 30 to 40 mph with gusts up to 65 mph possible.
- Impacts: Mainly to transportation. Strong cross winds will be hazardous to light weight or high profile vehicles, including campers and tractor trailers. In addition, areas of blowing snow could lead to reduced visibility, even whiteout conditions, and slick roads.

- Snow expected. Total snow accumulations between 6 and 12 inches. Winds gusting as high as 40 mph.
- Impacts: Areas of blowing snow could reduce visibility and lead to slick road conditions. Travel could be very difficult. The hazardous conditions could impact the Friday evening commute.
California
Wind Advisory remains in effect until 10 AM PST Sunday morning
- For the mountains and northeast foothills, northeast to east winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts to 45 to 55 mph. For portions of the Sacramento Valley, north winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts 40 to 50 mph.
- Impacts: Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. Strongest winds are expected Saturday. Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.
Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 4 PM PST Monday afternoon
- Snow expected. Total snow accumulations up to 10 inches above 6500 feet, 3-6 inches between 5000-6500 feet and a trace to 2 inches from 4000 to 5000 feet. Snow levels may drop to as low as 3500 feet Sunday night into Monday morning.
- Impacts: Travel could be very difficult. The hazardous conditions could impact the Monday morning commute.
