Summary:
A storm system will produce severe thunderstorms over the Lower Mississippi River Valley, and heavy to excessive rainfall from the Southern Plains through the Ohio River Valley. A strong Pacific storm will bring the potential for flash flooding, severe thunderstorms, strong to locally damaging non-thunderstorm winds, and high elevation snow to the Hawaiian Islands through Friday. Impacted Lanes: I-5, I-25, I-80, I-15, I-90, I-40, I-70, I-76, I-10, I-20, I-35, I-44, I-45, I-69, I-55, I-57, I-75, I-77, I-79, I-81, I-88, I-95, I-87, I-91


Arkansas
Flash Flood Warning remains in effect until 9:15 AM CST this morning

  • Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
  • Impacts: Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

Flood Warning remains in effect until 1:30 PM CST Sunday afternoon

  • Minor flooding is expected or occurring due to heavy rainfall. 
  • Impacts: Roads may be inundated. 

Flood Advisory remains in effect until 12:15 PM CST Friday afternoon

  • Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
  • Impacts: Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water over roadways.

Flood Watch remains in effect until 11:59 PM CST this evening

  • Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible.
  • Impacts: Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Water may be over roadways. 

New Mexico
High Wind Warning remains in effect until 8 PM MST this evening

  • West winds 35 to 45 mph with gusts up to 70 mph expected.
  • Impacts: Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles like campers, vans, and tractor trailers.

Wind Advisory remains in effect until 6 PM MST this evening

  • West winds 30 to 40 mph with gusts up to 55 mph expected.
  • Impacts: Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 11 PM MST this evening

  • Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations between 5 and 10 inches except up to 1 foot possible across the peaks.
  • Impacts: Travel could be very difficult. Tire traction will be reduced. Extend the distance between your vehicle and the vehicle in front of you.

Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 11 PM MST this evening

  • Snow expected. Total snow accumulations between 1 and 2 inches except between 2 and 4 inches above 7500 feet. Winds gusting as high as 40 mph.
  • Impacts: Plan on snow packed or icy road conditions. This includes portions of I-25. The hazardous conditions could impact the Thursday morning and evening commutes.

Kansas
Dense Fog Advisory remains in effect until 11 AM MST this morning

  • Visibility one quarter mile or less in dense fog.
  • Impacts: Low visibility will make driving conditions hazardous.
