Alaska will continue to be affected by a strong storm moving through the Bering Sea with heavy precipitation and strong winds. Meanwhile from the Pacific Northwest into the Southern Plains, a wintry mix will result in hazardous traveling conditions through today. Rain and a few thunderstorms spreads along the Gulf Coast then tracks northeast this weekend. Ice, snow, wind and heavy rain are likely. Oregon
Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 10 PM PST Saturday evening
- Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 6 to 12 inches. Winds gusting as high as 40 mph.
- Impacts: Heavy snow and low visibilities due to blowing snow may result in hazardous travel conditions.
Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 4 AM PST Sunday morning
- Snow expected above 2000 feet. Total snow accumulations of 2 to 6 inches between 2000 and 2500 feet and 6 to 10 inches between 2500 and 3500 feet. Winds gusting as high as 35 mph.
- Impacts: Travel could be very difficult.
Dense Fog Advisory remains in effect until 10 AM PST this morning
- Visibility one quarter mile or less in areas of dense fog.
- Impacts: Hazardous driving conditions due to low visibility.
Texas
Flood Advisory remains in effect until 10:15 AM CST this morning
- Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
- Impacts: Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Rises in small streams and normally dry arroyos. Water over roadways is expected.
Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 10 AM CST this morning
- Snow. Additional snow accumulations up to one inch.
- Impacts: Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will likely become slick and hazardous. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning commute.
Wind Advisory remains in effect until 12 PM CST this afternoon
- East winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph expected.
- Impacts: Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. Travel could be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.
New Mexico
Freezing Fog Advisory remains in effect until 9 AM MST this morning
- Visibility less than 1 mile at times to 4 miles in freezing fog. The fog is patchy so visibility may change dramatically over short distances.
- Impacts: Low visibility could make driving conditions hazardous. A light glaze may develop on frozen surfaces.
