An early season high impact snow event is underway across portions of the Pacific Northwest through the northern Plains. Meanwhile, excessive rainfall due to showers and thunderstorms will affect areas of the Southern Plains; Hazardous traveling conditions can be expected across these regions. Kansas
Flash Flood Warning remains in effect until 10:30 AM CDT this morning
- Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
- Impacts: Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas.
Flood Warning remains in effect until 9:00 AM CDT this morning
- Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
- Impacts: Flooding of low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring.
Flood Watch remains in effect until 10:30 PM CDT this evening
- Another round of excessive rainfall is possible, especially through the morning hours which may result in flooding.
- Impacts: Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Low-water crossings may be flooded.
Montana
Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 6 PM MDT Thursday evening
- Heavy snow occurring. Additional snow accumulations between 4 and 7 inches and ice accumulations around a light glaze.
- Impacts: The strong winds and weight of snow on tree limbs may down power lines and could cause sporadic power outages. Travel could be very difficult. The hazardous conditions could impact the Wednesday morning and evening commutes.
Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 6 PM MDT this evening
- Snow. Additional snow accumulations between 2 and 4 inches.
- Impacts: Plan on slippery road conditions.
Texas
Flood Advisory remains in effect until 10:45 AM CDT this morning
- Arroyo and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
- Impacts: Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water over roadways.
Flood Watch remains in effect until 3 PM CDT Thursday afternoon
- Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible.
- Impacts: Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Water over roadways.
South Dakota
Wind Advisory remains in effect until 3 AM MDT Thursday morning
- North winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph expected.
- Impacts: Sudden wind gusts can cause drivers to lose control, especially in lightweight or high profile vehicles. Strong winds can cause blowing dust, reduced visibility, and flying debris.
