U.S. Weather Update 11.12.24

Summary:
Tropical Storm Man-Yi in the Western Pacific is forecast to pass near or over Guam Wednesday CHST as a tropical storm. Tropical Storm Warnings have been issued for Guam, Rota, Tinian and Saipan. Red Flag Warnings have been issued today for southern New England due to critical fire weather from gusty winds and dry fuels. Impacted Lanes: I-5, I-90, I-40, I-94, I-15, I-84, I-80, I-70, I-76, I-37, I-10, I-95


Oregon
High Wind Warning remains in effect until 10 AM PST Wednesday morning

  • South winds 35 to 45 mph with gusts up to 60 mph expected. Winds up to 70 mph are possible over headlands and very exposed terrain.
  • Impacts: Damaging winds could blow down trees and power lines, and damage or blow away unsecured objects. Power outages are possible. Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

Wind Advisory remains in effect until 7 PM PST Wednesday evening

  • South winds 30 to 40 mph with gusts up to 50 mph expected. Gusts up to 60 mph are possible over the high terrain of the Warner Mountains and Winter Rim.
  • Impacts: Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 11 AM PST this morning

  • Snow above 5000 feet. Additional snow accumulations between 3 and 6 inches. Winds gusting as high as 35 mph.
  • Impacts: Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the Tuesday morning commute.

South Carolina
Flood Warning remains in effect until 7 PM EST Thursday evening

  • Small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.
  • Impacts: Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Numerous roads remain closed due to flooding.

Oklahoma
Flood Advisory remains in effect until 6 AM CST Wednesday morning

  • Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.
  • Impacts: Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water over roadways.

Texas
Dense Fog Advisory remains in effect until 9 AM CST this morning

  • Visibility one quarter mile or less in dense fog.
  • Impacts: Hazardous driving conditions due to low visibility.

Coastal Flood Advisory remains in effect until 2 PM CST this afternoon

  • Minor coastal flooding.
  • Impacts: Flooding of lots, parks, and roads with only isolated road closures expected.
