Summary:
Scattered thunderstorms, some severe, will be possible Thursday mainly over southeast Texas. A conditional risk for a few tornadoes will be possible. A series of cold fronts will start to impact areas along and west of the Cascades Thursday with rain for the valleys and snow at many mountain passes. Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 4 AM PST Friday morning
- Snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 4 to 8 inches.
- Impacts: Travel could be very difficult.
Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 4 PM PST Saturday afternoon
- Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 10 to 30 inches with 40 inches possible above 4500 ft. Winds gusting as high as 50 mph.
- Impacts: Travel could be very difficult to impossible. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning or evening commute.
Texas
High Wind Warning remains in effect until 5 PM MST this evening
- West winds 35 to 55 mph with gusts up to 75 mph expected.
- Impacts: Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.
Wind Advisory remains in effect until 11:59 PM CST this evening
- Southeast winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 40 mph expected.
- Impacts: Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. Travel could be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.
Coastal Flood Advisory remains in effect until 6 AM CST Friday morning
- Minor coastal flooding expected.
- Impacts: Flooding of lots, parks, and roads with only isolated road closures expected.
