A Pacific storm is bringing areas of low elevation rain, moderate to heavy mountain snow, and high winds to the Northwest. Strong Santa Ana winds and very dry conditions are producing elevated to critical fire weather conditions in southern California. Isolated strong to severe thunderstorms are possible through early Wednesday morning across parts of northeast Texas into western Tennessee. Kentucky
Flood Warning remains in effect until 7 PM CST this evening
- Minor flooding is forecast.
- Impacts: Heavy rain from thunderstorms this morning will cause minor flooding along the river. Water over roadways is expected.
Flood Advisory remains in effect until 11 AM CST this morning
- Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
- Impacts: Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water over roadways. River or stream flows are elevated.
Flood Watch remains in effect until 12:15 PM CST this afternoon
- Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible.
- Impacts: Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Low-water crossings may be flooded.
Montana
High Wind Warning remains in effect until 11:59 PM MST this evening
- Southwest winds 35 to 50 mph, with gusts up to 70 mph expected.
- Impacts: High winds may move loose debris, damage property and cause isolated power outages. Travel could be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.
Wind Advisory remains in effect until 11:59 PM MST this evening
- Southwest winds 40 to 50 mph with gusts up to 75 mph expected.
- Impacts: Strong crosswinds will make travel difficult along Interstate 90 from Livingston to Big Timber and roads along the Beartooth Foothills.
Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 11:59 PM MST this evening
- Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations up to 5 inches at and below pass level, with up to a foot above pass level. Winds gusting as high as 95 mph.
- Impacts: Widespread blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. Very strong winds could cause extensive damage to trees and power lines. Travel is highly discouraged due to slick roadways and the possibility of downed trees and power lines.
Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 5 AM MST Thursday morning
- A wintry mix of snow, sleet, and freezing rain. Total snow accumulations up to 3 inches in far northeast Montana, and up to an inch elsewhere. Ice accumulations as high as a tenth of an inch. Winds gusting as high as 60 mph.
- Impacts: Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will likely become slick and hazardous. Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the Wednesday morning and evening commutes. Strong winds could cause extensive damage to trees and power lines.
