Summary:
A series of storms will bring periods of heavy to excessive rain, mountain snow, and gusty winds to central and southern California. Heavy rainfall may produce flash flooding and mud/debris flows, especially in wildfire burn scars. California
Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 10 AM PST Thursday morning
- Heavy snow expected. Additional snow accumulations six to twelve inches above 9,000 feet. Additional snowfall three to six inches below 9,000 feet. Winds gusting as high as 45 mph.
- Impacts: Travel could be very difficult. Patchy blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning or evening commute.
Flood Advisory remains in effect until 7:30 AM PST this morning
- Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
- Impacts: Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Coastal Flood Advisory remains in effect until 7 AM PST this morning
- Minor coastal flooding expected.
- Impacts: Flooding of lots, parks, and roads with only isolated road closures expected.
Flood Watch remains in effect until 11 PM PST Thursday evening
- A high risk of flooding caused by excessive rainfall.
- Impacts: There is a high risk of extensive roadway flooding, especially in low-lying areas. There will likely be rock and mudslide activity on and below canyon and mountain roadways. Significant travel delays and road closures are likely.
Wind Advisory remains in effect until 7 AM PST Thursday morning
- Southeast to south winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph are expected. Isolated gusts to 60 mph are possible on favored mountain peaks.
- Impacts: Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects and make driving difficult, especially for drivers of high profile vehicles. Travel may be affected on area roadways by gusty cross winds, including Highways 33 and Interstate 5. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.
