Series of Pacific storms will continue to significantly impact portions of the West through this last weekend of 2024; Strong winds, high surf, heavy lower elevation rain and heavy mountain snow expected. Across the Plains, low visibility and dense fog will make for travel difficulties as warmer air lifts north. This will fuel severe thunderstorms across several southern states on Saturday. Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 5 PM MST this evening
- Moderate to heavy snow and strong winds. Additional snow accumulations between 3 and 10 inches with a foot or more along the highest peaks. Breezy sustained winds and gusts 30 to 40 mph with stronger gusts to around 55 mph expected.
- Impacts: Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will likely become slick and hazardous. Elevated winds could lead to blowing and drifting snow and reductions in visibility during periods of moderate to heavy snow. Travel could be very difficult to impossible. The hazardous conditions could impact the Friday morning and evening commutes.
Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 5 PM MST this evening
- Snow and breezy winds. Additional snow accumulations between 1 and 5 inches. Widespread wind gusts 25 to 35 mph with stronger 40 to 50 mph gusts expected.
- Impacts: Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will likely become slick and hazardous. Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the Friday morning and evening commutes.

- West winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 50 mph expected.
- Impacts: Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

- Urban area and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is occurring.
- Impacts: Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water over roadways.
Wind Advisory remains in effect until 7 PM PST this evening
- West winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 45 mph and localized gusts to 50 mph expected.
- Impacts: Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles traveling along I-15.
Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 10 AM PST this morning
- Wet snow. Additional snow accumulations of 2-4 inches.
- Impacts: Travel could be very difficult to impossible. The hazardous conditions could impact this morning commutes. Very strong winds could cause extensive damage to trees and power lines.
Dense Fog Advisory remains in effect until 9 AM PST this morning
- Visibility one quarter mile or less in dense fog.
- Impacts: Low visibility could make driving conditions hazardous.
High Wind Warning remains in effect until 10 AM PST this morning
- Southwest winds 30 to 40 mph with gusts up to 75 mph.
- Impacts: Damaging winds will blow down trees and power lines. Widespread power outages are expected. Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.
Flood Warning remains in effect until 2:30 PM PST this afternoon
- Small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
- Impacts: Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Streams continue to rise due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall.
