Summary:
A winter storm will bring heavy snow and ice to the Ohio Valley into the Mid-Atlantic Tuesday into Wednesday. Significant ice is forecast for the Central Appalachians. Heavy snow is likely through the I-95 corridor from Virginia to Pennsylvania. Another winter storm is slated to bring heavy snow and ice to the Central Plains later Tuesday, and spread into the Midwest and Great Lakes Wednesday. Impacted Lanes: I-5, I-15, I-40, I-10, I-25, I-35, I-44, I-45, I-30, I-20, I-70, I-80, I-29, I-55, I-72, I-57, I-64, I-49, I-85, I-75, I-24, I-65, I-69, I-71, I-74, I-77, I-79, I-81, I-95, I-76


West Virginia 
Ice Storm Warning remains in effect until 4 AM EST Thursday morning
  • Significant icing expected. Additional ice accumulations between a quarter of an inch to half of an inch will be possible.
  • Impacts: Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will likely become slick and hazardous. Significant ice accumulation on power lines and tree limbs may cause widespread and long-lasting power outages. Power outages and tree damage are likely due to the ice. Travel could be nearly impossible. The hazardous conditions could impact travel from Tuesday through Thursday.
Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 11 AM EST Wednesday morning
  • Heavy mixed precipitation expected. Total snow accumulations between 3 and 5 inches and ice accumulations around one tenth of an inch.
  • Impacts: Travel could be very difficult. The hazardous conditions could impact the Tuesday morning and evening commutes.
Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 7 AM EST Wednesday morning
  • Snow expected. Total snow accumulations between 3 and 6 inches.
  • Impacts: Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning commutes. Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will likely become slick and hazardous.
Flood Watch remains in effect until 7 AM EST Wednesday morning
  • Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible.
  • Impacts: Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Water over roadways is expected. 

Texas 
High Wind Warning remains in effect until 7 PM CST Wednesday evening

  • West winds 35 to 45 mph with gusts up to 70 mph expected.
  • Impacts: Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles like campers, vans, and tractor trailers.

Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 12:15 PM CST Wednesday afternoon

  • Mixed precipitation. Snow accumulations up to one to two inches for the far northern Texas Panhandle and the entire Oklahoma Panhandle. Ice accumulations from a trace up to a few hundredths are possible for the central and southern Texas Panhandle.
  • Impacts: Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning commutes.

Dense Fog Advisory remains in effect until 10 AM CST this morning

  • Visibility less than one mile possible due to areas of dense fog.
  • Impacts: Low visibility could make driving conditions hazardous.

Freezing Fog Advisory remains in effect until 10 AM CST this morning

  • Visibility one quarter to two miles in freezing fog.
  • Impacts: A light glaze of ice may develop on roadways and sidewalks, resulting in hazardous travel conditions.

Flood Watch remains in effect until 6 PM CST Wednesday evening

  • Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible.
  • Impacts: Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Water over roadways is expected. 

Flood Warning remains in effect until further notice

  • Minor flooding is forecast.
  • Impacts: Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Streams continue to rise due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall. Low-water crossings are inundated with water and may not be passable.

Arizona
Wind Advisory remains in effect until 6 PM MST this evening

  • Southwest winds 20 to 35 mph with gusts up to 55 mph expected.
  • Impacts: Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could snap resulting in a few power outages. Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.
