Summary:
A multi-day severe weather outbreak is expected in the Mississippi Valley into the Lower Ohio Valley this afternoon into Saturday and through the Central Gulf states on Saturday. Significant tornadoes, widespread damaging winds, and large hail are likely. Strong winds, low relative humidity, and dry fuels will bring extremely critical fire weather conditions to the Southern Plains today. Impacted Lanes: I-5, I-90, I-84, I-80, I-15, I-40, I-17, I-25, I-70, I-94, I-76, I-29, I-35, I-44, I-27, I-20, I-10, I-49, I-12, I-55, I-59, I-57, I-72, I-64, I-65, I-71, I-69, I-74, I-81


Utah
Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 6 PM MDT this evening

  • Heavy snow expected. Additional snow accumulations between 7 and 14 inches possible with locally higher amounts up to 20 inches.
  • Impacts: Winter driving conditions are expected. Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. 

Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 6 PM MDT this evening

  • Snow expected. Additional snow accumulations between 8 and 12 inches.
  • Impacts: Travel could be very difficult. The hazardous conditions could impact the Friday morning and evening commutes.

Arkansas
High Wind Warning remains in effect until 8 PM CDT this evening

  • Southwest winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 60 mph expected.
  • Impacts: Strong winds will damage some trees and power lines resulting in local power outages. Some property could be damaged. Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

Wind Advisory remains in effect until 1 AM CDT Saturday morning

  • South winds 20 to 35 mph with gusts up to 45 mph expected.
  • Impacts: Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

Flood Warning remains in effect until 1 PM CDT Wednesday afternoon

  • Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
  • Impacts: Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Streams continue to rise due to continuous rainfall. Low-water crossings are inundated with water and may not be passable.

Mississippi
Flood Warning remains in effect until 7 PM CDT Saturday evening

  • Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
  • Impacts: Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Streams continue to rise due to continuous rainfall. Low-water crossings are inundated with water and may not be passable.

Flood Advisory remains in effect until 1 PM CDT Wednesday afternoon

  • Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.
  • Impacts: Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water over roadways.

Dense Fog Advisory remains in effect until 11 AM CDT this morning

  • Visibility one quarter mile or less in dense fog.
  • Impacts: Low visibility could make driving conditions hazardous.

New York
Flood Watch remains in effect until 8 PM EDT Monday evening

  • Flooding caused by rain and snowmelt is possible.
  • Impacts: Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Water over roadways is possible.
