Summary:
A major winter storm will continue to bring widespread hazards through Wednesday night, including damaging winds, blizzard conditions, severe weather, and localized flash flooding from the central to eastern U.S. A Pacific storm will bring widespread valley rain and mountain snow across California, the Great Basin, and the Intermountain West Wednesday through Friday. Impacted Lanes: I-80, I-5, I-40, I-15, I-17, I-70, I-90, I-25, I-94, I-43, I-41, I-35, I-39, I-55, I-74, I-72, I-44, I-64, I-57, I-49, I-10, I-45, I-20, I-12, I-59, I-65, I-85, I-75, I-95, I-16, I-26, I-24, I-69, I-71, I-81


Minnesota
Blizzard Warning remains in effect until 3 PM CST this afternoon

  • Blizzard conditions. Additional snow accumulations between 1 and 3 inches. Winds gusting as high as 45 mph.
  • Impacts: Whiteout conditions are expected and will make travel treacherous and potentially life-threatening. Travel could be very difficult. The hazardous conditions could impact the Wednesday morning commute. Strong winds could cause damage to trees and power lines. Roads across the Blizzard Warning region are either closed or have travel not advised.

Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 3 PM CST this afternoon

  • Heavy snow. Additional snow accumulations between 1 and 3 inches. Winds gusting as high as 40 mph.
  • Impacts: Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the Wednesday morning commute. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches.

Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 12:15 PM CST this afternoon

  • Snow. Additional snow accumulations up to one inch. Winds gusting as high as 40 mph.
  • Impacts: Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the Wednesday morning commute. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches.

Wind Advisory remains in effect until 3 PM CST this afternoon

  • Northwest winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 60 mph.
  • Impacts: Damaging winds will blow down trees and some power lines. Scattered power outages are possible. Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

Kansas
High Wind Warning remains in effect until 6 PM CST this evening

  • Southwest winds 30 to 40 mph, with gusts up to 65 mph, are expected
  • Impacts: High winds may move loose debris, damage property and cause power outages. Travel could be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 9 AM CST this morning

  • Light snow. Additional snow accumulations up to one inch. Winds gusting as high as 50 mph.
  • Impacts: Plan on slippery road conditions. Areas of blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. The hazardous conditions could impact the Wednesday morning commute. Strong winds could cause tree damage.

Mississippi
Wind Advisory remains in effect until 6 PM CST this evening

  • West winds 20 to 25 mph with gusts up to 45 mph expected.
  • Impacts: Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

Flood Warning remains in effect until 4:30 PM CST Thursday afternoon

  • Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
  • Impacts: Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Streams continue to rise due to continuous rainfall. Low-water crossings are inundated with water and may not be passable.

Flood Advisory remains in effect until Tuesday, March 11th. 

  • Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.
  • Impacts: Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water over roadways and ponding of water on roadways is occurring or is imminent.

New York 
Flood Watch remains in effect until 1 PM EST Thursday afternoon

  • Flooding caused by significant snowmelt and rainfall.
  • Impacts: Excessive runoff from significant snowmelt and rain may result in flooding of rivers, smaller tributaries, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. The most prone areas for flooding will be where ice jams typically develop. The greatest risk for ice jam flooding will be into this evening with the risk for river based flooding later tonight into Thursday. Water over roadways is possible. 

Wind Advisory remains in effect until 1 PM EST this afternoon

  • Southeast winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph.
  • Impacts: Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few isolated power outages may result. Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.
