U.S. Weather Update 4.10.25

Summary:
A storm system will progressively develop over the Eastern U.S. into the weekend. Scattered strong-severe thunderstorms may produce hail and damaging winds from portions of the lower Ohio Valley into the Deep South this afternoon. Areas of mixed rain and wet snow showers will impact the the Great Lakes to interior New England. Heavy rain will spread into the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast on Friday. Impacted Lanes: I-74, I-80, I-40, I-55, I-57, I-24, I-69, I-65, I-71


Kentucky 
Flood Warning remains in effect until 10 AM CDT this morning

  • Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.
  • Impacts: Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is occurring. Numerous roads remain closed due to flooding.

Tennessee
Flood Warning remains in effect until 2 PM CDT this afternoon

  • Flooding caused by excessive rainfall and record river flooding continues.
  • Impacts: Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Several structures are flooded and several levees have failed. Numerous roads remain closed due to flooding.

Flood Advisory remains in effect until further notice

  • Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.
  • Impacts: Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water over roadways.

Illinois
Dense Fog Advisory remains in effect until 10 AM CDT this morning

  • Visibility one quarter to one half mile in dense fog.
  • Impacts: Low visibility could make driving conditions hazardous.

Flood Warning remains in effect until further notice 

  • Major flooding is occurring and major flooding is forecast.
  • Impacts: Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is occurring. Numerous roads remain closed due to flooding.

Additional Flood Warnings include but are not limited to: Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, Mississippi, Alabama, Florida, Missouri, Indiana, and Ohio

Additional Dense Fog Advisories include but are not limited to: Iowa, and California
