U.S. Weather Update 4.15.25

Summary:
Strong to severe thunderstorms will continue tonight across portions of the Ohio Valley into the Mid-Atlantic. Heavy rains may bring an isolated flash flooding threat over the central Appalachians, particularly in West Virginia. Moderate to heavy snow will continue over portions of northern Minnesota and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan through Tuesday morning. Impacted Lanes: I-75, I-20, I-26, I-77, I-95, I-40, I-81, I-64, I-79, I-68, I-70, I-76, I-80


Michigan
Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 10 AM EDT this morning

  • Heavy snow and patchy blowing snow. Additional snow accumulations up to 4 inches. Winds gusting as high as 35 mph.
  • Impacts: Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions will impact the Tuesday morning commute.

Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 8 PM EDT this evening

  • Snow. Additional snow accumulations up to 3 inches. Winds gusting as high as 40 mph.
  • Impacts: Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the Tuesday morning and evening commutes.

Wind Advisory remains in effect until 8 PM EDT this evening

  • Northwest winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 45 mph.
  • Impacts: Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

Kentucky
Flood Warning remains in effect until 12:15 PM CDT this afternoon

  • Flooding caused by last week's excessive rainfall continues.
  • Impacts: Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations continues. Numerous roads remain closed due to flooding.

Pennsylvania
Wind Advisory remains in effect until 8 PM EDT this evening

  • West winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 50 mph expected.
  • Impacts: Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.
