U.S. Weather Update 4.23.25

Summary:
Isolated to scattered severe thunderstorms may produce large hail, severe wind gusts, and heavy rain and isolated flash flooding across portions of the southern and central Plains. Showers and thunderstorms are expected to linger cross the South the next couple of days. Heavy showers are creating a flash flooding threat around Kauai and Niihau, Hawaii. Impacted Lanes: I-10, I-69, I-45, I-20, I-30, I-35, I-65, I-24, I-75, I-77, I-85


Texas
Flash Flood Warning remains in effect until 9:45 AM CDT this morning

  • Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
  • Impacts: Flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets, and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low lying areas.

Flood Warning remains in effect until 10 AM CDT Saturday morning

  • Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
  • Impacts:  Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Water is over roadways.

Flood Advisory remains in effect until 10:30 AM CDT this morning

  • Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
  • Impacts:  Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water over roadways. 

Arkansas
Flood Warning remains in effect until further notice

  • Moderate flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast.
  • Impacts: Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Water is over roadways.

Flood Advisory remains in effect until further notice

  • Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.
  • Impacts: Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent. Water is over roadways. 

Florida
Dense Fog Advisory remains in effect until 9 AM CDT this morning

  • Visibility one quarter to one half mile in dense fog.
  • Impacts: Low visibility could make driving conditions hazardous.

California
Wind Advisory remains in effect until 9 PM PDT this evening

  • Southwest winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 45 mph expected.
  • Impacts: Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.
