Summary:
A powerful spring storm continues across the country with multiple high impacts in the forecast. Life-threatening, catastrophic, and potentially historic flash flood event continues across the Lower Ohio Valley and Mid-South. A couple rounds of significant severe weather expected from the Mid-South through the Ozarks and ArkLaTex with very large hail and strong tornadoes possible. Impacted Lanes: I-25, I-40, I-70, I-90, I-94, I-29, I-35, I-20, I-30, I-45, I-10, I-49, I-12, I-59, I-55, I-57, I-44, I-64, I-72, I-74, I-69, I-22, I-24, I-65, I-75, I-71, I-77, I-76, I-80, I-79


Kentucky 
Flash Flood Warning remains in effect until 11:15 AM EDT this morning

  • Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
  • Impacts: Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

Flood Warning remains in effect until 12:15 PM EDT this afternoon

  • Urban area and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall are expected.
  • Impacts: Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Water is over roadways. 

Flood Advisory remains in effect until 11 AM EDT this morning

  • Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall are expected.
  • Impacts: Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water is over roadways. 

Flood Watch remains in effect until 8 AM EDT Sunday morning

  • Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible.
  • Impacts: Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Extensive street flooding and flooding of creeks and rivers are possible.

Colorado
Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 3 PM MDT Saturday afternoon

  • Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations between 6 and 15 inches.
  • Impacts: Travel could be very difficult. Areas of blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. The hazardous conditions could impact the Friday evening commute.

Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 11:59 PM MDT Saturday evening

  • Snow expected. Total snow accumulations between 6 and 10 inches.
  • Impacts: Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will likely become slick and hazardous. Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the Friday evening commutes.

Dense Fog Advisory remains in effect until 11 AM MDT this morning

  • Visibility one quarter to one half mile in dense fog.
  • Impacts: Low visibility could make driving conditions hazardous. Roads, especially bridges and overpasses, will likely become slick and hazardous.

Louisiana
Flood Warning remains in effect until further notice

  • Minor flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast.
  • Impacts: Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Low-water crossings are inundated with water and may not be passable. Expect many areas of slow moving or standing water.

Coastal Flood Advisory remains in effect until 4 PM CDT Saturday afternoon

  • Minor coastal flooding expected.
  • Impacts: Flooding of lots, parks, and roads with only isolated road closures expected.

Wind Advisory remains in effect until 7 PM CDT this evening

  • Southeast winds 20 to 25 mph with gusts up to 40 mph.
  • Impacts: Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.
