From the Lower Mississippi into the Ohio Valley, widespread moderate to major river flooding is ongoing and will continue through at least late week. Cold temperatures, near or below freezing Wednesday morning will be felt across areas that were impacted by the recent multi-day storms. Dry conditions and gusty winds will contribute to critical fire weather Wednesday over parts of the Plains. Wyoming
High Wind Warning remains in effect until 6 PM MDT this evening
- West winds 30 to 40 mph with gusts up to 65 mph possible.
- Impacts: Mainly to transportation. Strong cross winds will be hazardous to light weight or high profile vehicles, including campers and tractor trailers.
Tennessee
Flood Warning remains in effect until 2 PM CDT Thursday afternoon
- Flooding caused by excessive rainfall and record river flooding continues.
- Impacts: Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Several structures are flooded and several levees have failed. Numerous roads remain closed due to flooding.
Flood Advisory remains in effect until further notice
- Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.
- Impacts: Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water over roadways.
California
Dense Fog Advisory remains in effect until 9 AM PDT this morning
- Areas of visibility less than one-quarter mile in dense fog.
- Impacts: Low visibility could make driving conditions hazardous.
South Dakota
Wind Advisory remains in effect until 7 PM MDT this evening
- Northwest winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 50 mph expected.
- Impacts: Sudden wind gusts can cause drivers to lose control, especially in lightweight or high profile vehicles. Strong winds can cause blowing dust, reduced visibility, and flying debris. Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.
