Strong to severe thunderstorms are expected to develop from central Texas into the Ohio Valley and Great Lakes Wednesday. Areas who will see the greatest chances for damaging hail and winds will be from north Texas to the Ozarks. Parts of south Texas and Florida will experience dangerous to extreme heat over the next several days. Dangerous heat stress may continue into early next week. Montana
Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 12:15 PM MDT Thursday afternoon
- Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations between 2 and 6 inches below pass level, with 5 to 12 inches at and above pass level.
- Impacts: Travel could be very difficult and tire chains may be required for some vehicles.
Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 6 PM MDT Thursday evening
- Snow expected. Total snow accumulations up to 5 inches.
- Impacts: Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the Wednesday evening and Thursday morning commutes.
Iowa
Flood Warning remains in effect until further notice
- Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is occurring.
- Impacts: Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Numerous roads remain closed due to flooding. It will take several hours for all the water from these storms to work through local drainage systems in urban areas.
Oklahoma
Flood Advisory remains in effect until 10 AM CDT this morning
- Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
- Impacts: Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water over roadways. Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent.
Flood Watch remains in effect until 10 PM CDT Thursday evening
- Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible.
- Impacts: Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, roadways, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
North Carolina
Dense Fog Advisory remains in effect until 10 AM EDT this morning
- Visibility one quarter mile or less in dense fog.
- Impacts: Low visibility could make driving conditions hazardous.
Oregon
Wind Advisory remains in effect until 5 PM PDT this afternoon
- West winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 50 mph expected.
- Impacts: Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. Travel could be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.
