U.S. Weather Update 6.7.24

Summary:
Dangerously hot conditions will continue across portions of the interior California, the Great Basin, the Southwest, and South Texas. Excessive Heat Warnings and Heat Advisories are in effect. Severe thunderstorms and excessive rainfall are possible from the central and southern High Plains into the central Plains. Impacted Lanes: I-70, I-90, I-80, I-84, I-15


Wyoming
Flood Warning remains in effect until 3 PM MDT Sunday afternoon

  • Flooding caused by snowmelt and rainfall is occurring.
  • Impacts: Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, roadways, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Streams continue to rise due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall.

Flood Advisory remains in effect until 7 AM MDT Saturday morning

  • Flooding caused by snowmelt continues.
  • Impacts: Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

California
Wind Advisory remains in effect until 9 PM MDT this evening

  • Southwest winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 45 mph expected.
  • Impacts: Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. Travel could be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. 

Additional Flood Warnings include but are not limited to: North Dakota, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, Illinois, Missouri, Oklahoma, Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana, and Mississippi

Additional Flood Advisories include but are not limited to: Nevada, and Colorado
