Summary:
Extremely dangerous heat continues in the Western U.S. through Saturday with widespread Excessive Heat Warnings and Heat Advisories. Hazardous heat will expand over much of the central and eastern U.S. late this weekend into next week. Confidence is increasing in extremely dangerous heat, particularly for urban areas in the Southeast and East Coast beginning Monday. Impacted Lanes: I-44, I-95, I-73, I-74, I-40, I-85, I-295, I-64, I-70, I-84, I-76, I-66


Virginia
Flash Flood Warning remains in effect until 11 AM EDT this morning

  • Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
  • Impacts: Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

Flood Watch remains in effect until 10:30 PM EDT this evening 

  • Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible.
  • Impacts: Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Water may be over roadways. 

Kansas
Flash Flood Warning remains in effect until 10 AM CDT this morning

  • Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing flash flooding.
  • Impacts: Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses.

Flood Warning remains in effect until 10 AM CDT this morning

  • Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.
  • Impacts: Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, county roads, city streets, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring.

Flood Advisory remains in effect until 9 AM CDT this morning

  • Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
  • Impacts: Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water over roadways.

Additional Flash Flood Warnings include but are not limited to: North Carolina, and Missouri

Additional Flood Warnings include but are not limited to: Minnesota, Wisconsin, Indiana, Kentucky, Vermont, Maine, Illinois, Iowa, Michigan, New York, South Dakota, Missouri, Texas, and Louisiana

Additional Flood Advisories include but are not limited to: Minnesota, Missouri, and North Carolina

Additional Flood Watches include but are not limited to: South Carolina, North Carolina, Maryland, Delaware, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, Rhode Island, and Massachusetts
