Summary:
Severe thunderstorms are expected mainly from Kansas into northern Missouri and into Iowa Tuesday. Damaging winds will be the most likely threat, with large hail possible. An Enhanced Risk (level 3 of 5) of severe thunderstorms is in effect. Hot conditions will continue across the Southern Plains Tuesday, spreading into the southeast and Mid-Atlantic by Independence Day. Impacted Lanes: I-75, I-16, I-95, I-80, I-90, I-29, I-35, I-94, I-41, I-43


Iowa
Flash Flood Warning remains in effect until 10:15 AM CDT this morning

  • Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
  • Impacts: Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

Flood Warning remains in effect until 2:30 PM CDT this afternoon

  • Urban area and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
  • Impacts: Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Numerous roads remain closed due to flooding. Streams continue to rise due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall.

Flood Watch remains in effect until 12:15 PM CDT this afternoon

  • Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible.
  • Impacts: Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Water over roads is possible. 

Georgia
Flood Advisory remains in effect until 10 AM EDT this morning

  • Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.
  • Impacts: Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water over roadways. 

California
Coastal Flood Advisory remains in effect until 11 PM PDT Wednesday evening

  • Minor coastal flooding expected.
  • Impacts: Flooding of lots, parks, and roads with only isolated road closures expected.

Additional Flood Warnings include but are not limited to: Minnesota, South Dakota, Wisconsin, Nebraska, Missouri, and Illinois

Additional Flood Advisories include but are not limited to: Arkansas, and Minnesota

Additional Flood Watches include but are not limited to: Minnesota, Illinois, Missouri,  and New Mexico
