Strong to severe storms and heavy rain are expected from the north-central High Plains into the central Plains the next few days. Heat advisories and excessive heat warnings are in effect for several locations across the Lower 48 with some concern of a long-term heat wave in parts of the Southwest and Southern U.S. Air quality issues persist in multiple locations, especially major metro areas. New Jersey
Dense Fog Advisory remains in effect until 10 AM EDT this morning
- Visibility one quarter mile or less in dense fog.
- Impacts: Hazardous driving conditions due to low visibility.
California
Flood Advisory remains in effect until 4 PM PDT Saturday morning
- Flooding caused by snowmelt continues.
- Impacts: Excessive runoff from rapid snowmelt will continue to produce minor flooding of creeks, streams, and other flood-prone locations. Water may be over some roadways.
New York
Coastal Flood Advisory remains in effect until 3 AM EDT Friday morning
- Up to one foot of inundation above ground level expected in vulnerable areas near the waterfront and shoreline.
- Impacts: Minor flooding is expected in the more vulnerable locations near the waterfront and shoreline. Some roads and low lying properties near the waterfront will experience minor flooding.
