Strong to severe thunderstorms are possible across the Northern Plains and into the Central Plains each afternoon though midweek. There will be a threat for large hail in eastern Colorado. Hazardous heat continues across Texas and the Gulf Coast with temperatures in the triple digits. Elevated to Critical fire weather conditions will be in place over portions of the West. Flood Warning remains in effect until 1:30 PM EDT this afternoon
- Flooding caused by past excessive rainfall is occurring.
- Impacts: Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is occurring. Numerous roads remain closed due to flooding. Expect many areas of slow moving or standing water.
New York
Flood Advisory remains in effect until 10:45 AM EDT this morning
- Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
- Impacts: Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Maine
Dense Fog Advisory remains in effect until 10 AM EDT this morning
- Visibility of a quarter-mile or less in dense fog.
- Impacts: Low visibility could make driving conditions hazardous.
California
Wind Advisory remains in effect until 3 AM PDT Wednesday morning
- Northwest winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph expected.
- Impacts: Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. Travel could be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.
