Summary:
A dangerous heat wave will persist across the Southern Plains and Gulf Coast through much of this week. High temperatures are expected to climb into the triple digits with numerous new records. Elevated to Critical fire weather conditions are forecast over the Great Basin and Intermountain West due to dry air, dry thunderstorms and strong winds. Florida
Flood Warning remains in effect until 2:15 PM EDT Friday afternoon
- Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
- Impacts: Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Numerous roads remain closed due to flooding. Expect many areas of slow moving or standing water.
Flood Advisory remains in effect until 10:15 AM EDT this morning
- Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
- Impacts: Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water over roadways.
South Carolina
Coastal Flood Advisory remains in effect until 1 PM EDT this afternoon
- Up to one half foot of inundation above ground level expected along shorelines and tidal waterways
- Impacts: This could result in some roads becoming impassable.
Nevada
Wind Advisory remains in effect until 8 PM PDT Friday evening
- South winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph expected.
- Impacts: Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. A few power outages are possible. Travel could be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.
Utah
Flood Advisory remains in effect until 9 AM MDT this morning
- Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
- Impacts: Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water over roadways. Overflowing poor drainage areas.
Flood Watch remains in effect until 11:59 PM MDT this evening
- Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible.
- Impacts: Excessive runoff may result in flooding of slot canyons, normally dry washes, creeks and streams, recent burn scars, roadways, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
