Dangerous heat and humidity will continue for much of the Midwest and peak in the Mid-Atlantic, including the National Capital Region, on Wednesday, and the Southeast on Thursday. Severe thunderstorms and locally heavy rains are expected from parts of Ohio to the northern Mid-Atlantic coast and parts of North and South Dakota. Montana
High Wind Warning remains in effect until 6 PM MDT this evening
- West winds 30 to 40 mph, with gusts between 50 to 70 mph.
- Impacts: High winds may move loose debris, damage property and cause power outages. Travel could be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.
Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 6 PM MDT this evening
- Snow expected above 5000 feet. Likelihood of moderate impacts from 3 to 6 inches of snow is greater than 90 percent, and up to a 40 percent chance of isolated major impacts from 6 to 10 inches or more of snow.
- Impacts: Travel could be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.
South Dakota
Dense Fog Advisory remains in effect until 10 AM CDT this morning
- Visibility one quarter mile or less in dense fog.
- Impacts: Low visibility could make driving conditions hazardous.
New Mexico
Flood Watch remains in effect until 9 PM MDT this evening
- Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible.
- Impacts: Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, roadways, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
