Summary:
Isolated to scattered severe thunderstorms and heavy rain are possible across portions of the Ohio and Tennessee Valleys into the Appalachians. High surf, coastal flooding and rip currents will remain a concern for most of the eastern seaboard into midweek. A Tropical Storm Watch is in effect for the Dry Tortugas & Lower Keys as the tropical disturbance moves across the northwestern Caribbean Sea. Virginia
Coastal Flood Warning remains in effect until 10 PM EDT this evening
- One to two feet of inundation above ground level in low- lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways.
- Impacts: Widespread flooding of vulnerable areas. Water will be 1 to 2 feet above ground level in some areas resulting in a sufficient depth to close numerous roads. Flooding will extend inland from the waterfront along tidal rivers and bays resulting in some road closures and flooding of vehicles.
Coastal Flood Advisory remains in effect until 2 AM EDT Wednesday morning
- Up to one foot of inundation above ground level expected in low-lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways.
- Impacts: Shallow flooding is expected in the most vulnerable locations near the waterfront and shoreline. Expect up to one foot of water above ground level in low lying, vulnerable areas. Some roads and low lying property will experience shallow flooding.
Ohio
Flood Advisory remains in effect until 12:15 PM EDT this afternoon
- Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
- Impacts: Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water over roadways.
Oklahoma
Dense Fog Advisory remains in effect until 9 AM CDT this morning
- Visibility one quarter mile or less in dense fog.
- Impacts: Visibilities are expected to be reduced to less than one quarter mile by dense fog. Rapidly changing visibility will create hazardous driving conditions.
