Summary:
Moisture continues to flow into portions of the West, Great Basin and Rockies with strong winds, lower elevation rain and higher elevation snow. Precipitation will occasionally be heavy with impacts to travel and possible power outages. For the Northeast, gusty winds, lower elevation rain and accumulation snow for the higher terrain through this weekend; Slow improvements expected through Sunday. Pennsylvania
Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 4 PM EST this afternoon

  • Heavy snow. Additional snow accumulation between 2 and 5 inches, with the lower amounts occurring in the Susquehanna Valley. Winds gusting as high as 35 mph.
  • Impacts: The strong winds and weight of snow on tree limbs may down power lines and could cause sporadic power outages. Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the Friday morning commute.

Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 7 AM EST this morning

  • Snow. Additional snow accumulation between 2 and 4 inches. Winds gusting as high as 35 mph.
  • Impacts: Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the Friday morning commute.

California
High Wind Warning remains in effect until 4 PM PST this afternoon

  • Southwest winds 30 to 40 mph with gusts up to 65 mph. Ridge wind gusts will reach up to 125 mph.
  • Impacts: Damaging winds will blow down trees and power lines. Widespread power outages are expected. Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

Wind Advisory remains in effect until 10 PM PST this evening 

  • South winds 15 to 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph expected, locally higher gusts greater than 65 mph are possible above 2,500 feet.
  • Impacts: Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

Flood Warning remains in effect until 4 AM PST Saturday morning

  • Urban area and small stream flooding caused by rain and snowmelt continues.
  • Impacts: Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Water is over roadways. 

Flood Advisory remains in effect until 12:15 PM PST Saturday afternoon

  • Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
  • Impacts: Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water over roadways. Overflowing poor drainage areas. Rises along small streams and mainstem rivers.

Flood Watch remains in effect until 10 PM PST this evening

  • Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible.
  • Impacts: There will be an increased risk of rock and land slides along roadways. Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Low-water crossings may be flooded. Storm drains and ditches may become clogged with debris. Extensive street flooding and flooding of creeks and rivers are possible. Area creeks and streams are running high and could flood with more heavy rain.

Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 4 AM PST Sunday morning

  • Snow expected above 7000 feet. Total snow accumulations 2 to 8 inches between 7000 and 8500 feet, higher totals up to 18 inches near the crest. Winds gusting as high as 55 mph near the crest.
  • Impacts: Travel could be very difficult. Strong winds could cause extensive tree damage.

Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 10 PM PST Saturday evening

  • Heavy snow  above 7000 feet. Snow accumulations of 10 to 18 inches with isolated amounts up to 2 feet. Southwest winds 30 to 40 mph with gusts up to 65 mph. Ridge wind gusts will reach up to 125 mph.
  • Impacts: Travel could be very difficult to impossible. The hazardous conditions could impact the Friday evening and Monday morning commutes. Very strong winds could cause extensive damage to trees and power lines.

Power Pacific system will continue to bring significant impacts for Pacific Northwest into northern California the remainder of the week. Dangerous coastal affects, heavy rain, flooding, strong winds, and higher elevation mountain snow continues. Meanwhile, a storm across the east is set to bring the first accumulating snow to many higher elevations of the Catskills into the central Appalachians. Pennsylvania
Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 7 AM EST Saturday morning

  • Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations between 6 and 12 inches. Locally higher amounts possible across the highest ridge tops. Winds gusting as high as 40 mph.
  • Impacts: Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will likely become slick and hazardous. Travel could be very difficult. The hazardous conditions could impact the Thursday evening and Friday commutes.

Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 7 AM EST Saturday morning

  • Snow expected. Total snow accumulations between 2 and 4 inches.
  • Impacts: Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the Friday morning commute.

Oregon
High Wind Warning remains in effect until 10 AM PST Friday morning

  • South winds 25 to 40 mph with gusts up to 65 mph.
  • Impacts: Damaging winds could blow down trees and power lines. Power outages are possible. Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Unsecured objects may be lost or damaged.

 Wind Advisory remains in effect until 1 PM PST Friday afternoon

  • Southeast winds 20 to 35 mph with gusts up to 45 mph.
  • Impacts: Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

 Flood Warning remains in effect until 11:59 PM PST Friday evening

  • Flooding caused by excessive rainfall and snow melt is expected.
  • Impacts: Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is expected. Water over roadways.

  • Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected

Flood Advisory remains in effect until 6 AM CST Sunday morning

  • Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.
  • Impacts: Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water over roadways.

New York
Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 4 PM EST Friday afternoon

  • Snow, heavy at times under localized bands. Totals will be highly elevation dependent as well. A few inches or less in valley locations with amounts of 5-12 inches above 1,500 feet. Totals of 12-18 inches possible in the highest elevations in western Wayne, eastern Lackawanna, Delaware and eastern Susquehanna counties.
  • Impacts: Travel could be very difficult, especially with snowfall rates of 1-3 inches per hour in spots overnight. The hazardous conditions could impact the Friday morning commute. Heavy snowfall could bring down trees and wires due to the weight of the snow.

Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 1 AM EST Saturday morning

  • Snow expected. Total snow accumulations up to 4 inches inches, with the greatest snowfall amounts for areas above 1000 ft. in elevation.
  • Impacts: Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will likely become slick and hazardous.

Coastal Flood Advisory remains in effect until 5 PM EST this evening

  • Up to one foot of inundation above ground level expected in vulnerable areas near the waterfront and shoreline.
  • Impacts: Minor flooding in the more vulnerable locations near the waterfront and shoreline. Some roads and low lying properties near the waterfront will experience minor flooding.

Flood Advisory remains in effect until 9 AM CST this morning

  • Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

Summary:
Gusty winds and low relative humidity will bring critical fire weather to parts of southern New England and Hawaii Friday where Red Flag Warnings have been issued. Several feet of snow may accumulate over the Cascades from late Friday night into Monday evening as a storm system move through the Pacific Northwest. Impacted Lanes: I-40, I-5, I-80, I-84, I-15, I-40, I-95, I-29, I-94, I-90, I-35, I-74, I-72, I-70, I-44, I-55, I-22


North Carolina
Wind Advisory remains in effect until 4 PM EST this afternoon

  • North winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 40 mph.
  • Impacts: Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

Coastal Flood Advisory remains in effect until 10 PM EST this evening

  • Up to 1 to 2 feet of inundation above ground level expected in low- lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways.
  • Impacts:  Flooding of lots, parks, and roads with only isolated road closures expected.

Coastal Flood Warning remains in effect until 10 PM EST this evening

  • One to two feet of inundation above ground level in low-lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways.
  • Impacts: Water will be 1 to 2 feet above ground level in some areas resulting in a sufficient depth to close numerous roads. Flooding will extend inland from the waterfront along tidal rivers and bays resulting in some road closures and flooding of vehicles.

Nevada
Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 7 PM PST this evening

  • Snow. Snow accumulations up to 3 inches above 5000 feet. Up to one half of an inch accumulations below 5000 feet are expected, however lower valleys may see a rain/snow mix Friday afternoon before turning to snow late in the afternoon.
  • Impacts: Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the Friday morning and evening commutes.

Iowa
Dense Fog Advisory remains in effect until 10 AM CST this morning

  • Visibility one quarter mile or less in dense fog.
  • Impacts: Low visibility could make driving conditions hazardous.

Summary:
Heavy coastal rain and high-elevation mountain snow over the Pacific Northwest and northern California will become lighter and more scattered into Thursday. A rapidly developing coastal storm is expected to bring a period of gusty winds, enhanced rainfall and thunderstorms from the Carolinas to the Mid-Atlantic states Thursday night into Friday. Impacted Lanes: I-40, I-5, I-90, I-80, I-15, I-94, I-29, I-95, I-26, I-86


Washington
Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 4 PM PST this afternoon

  • Heavy snow. Additional snow accumulations between 4 and 8 inches.
  • Impacts: Travel could be very difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches.

Coastal Flood Advisory remains in effect until 2 PM PST this afternoon

  • Minor coastal flooding possible. Inundation of around 2 feet above ground level is possible along shorelines and low- lying coastal areas.
  • Impacts: Minor coastal flooding due to tidal overflow is expected. This may lead to flooding of parking lots, parks, and roads, with only isolated road closures expected.

Flood Warning remains in effect until 2 PM PST this afternoon

  • Moderate flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast.
  • Impacts: Moderate flooding from heavy rain, with deep and quick flood waters will inundate some residential areas and many roads.

Tennessee
High Wind Warning remains in effect until 11 AM EST this morning

  • South winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 60 mph expected.
  • Impacts: Damaging winds will blow down trees and power lines. A few scattered power outages are possible. Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

Wind Advisory remains in effect until 11 AM EST this morning

  • South winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 50 mph expected.
  • Impacts: Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

Virginia
Coastal Flood Warning remains in effect until 6 PM EST Friday evening

  • One to two feet of inundation above ground level expected in low-lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways.
  • Impacts: Water will be 1 to 2 feet above ground level in some areas resulting in a sufficient depth to close numerous roads. Flooding will extend inland from the waterfront along tidal rivers and bays resulting in some road closures and flooding of vehicles.

Coastal Flood Advisory remains in effect until 6 AM EST Friday morning

  • Up to one foot of inundation above ground level in low-lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways.
  • Impacts: Numerous roads may be closed. Low lying property including some critical infrastructure may be inundated.

California
Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 10 PM PST Friday evening

  • Snow expected. Total snow accumulations up to 6 inches and up to 11 inches at the higher elevations.
  • Impacts: Travel could be very difficult. The hazardous conditions could impact the Thursday evening and Friday morning commutes.

An Atmospheric River will bring a marginal risk for heavy to excessive low elevation rain and mountain snow to the Pacific Northwest and northern California today into at least Thursday night. Impacted Lanes: I-5, I-40, I-90, I-84, I-80, I-76, I-25, I-70, I-49, I-10, I-55, I-95, I-26


Washington
Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 4 PM PST Thursday afternoon

  • Heavy snow at or above elevations greater than 4000 ft. Additional snow accumulations between 12 and 22 inches. Winds gusting as high as 45 mph.
  • Impacts: Travel could be very difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches.

Coastal Flood Warning remains in effect until 1 PM PST this afternoon

  • Moderate coastal flooding expected. Inundation of 2 to 2.5 feet above ground level is possible along shorelines and low-lying coastal areas.
  • Impacts: Significant coastal flooding due to high tides and storm surge is expected. This is expected to lead to numerous road closures. Low lying property including some critical infrastructure may be inundated.

Coastal Flood Advisory remains in effect until 1 PM PST this afternoon

  • Minor coastal flooding expected. Inundation of around 2.5 feet above ground level is possible along shorelines and low- lying coastal areas.

  • Minor flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast.

  • Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible.

Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 9 AM MST this morning

  • Snow. Total snow accumulations between 5 and 10 inches, with locally higher amounts above 9000 feet. Winds gusting as high as 45 mph.
  • Impacts: Travel could be very difficult. The hazardous conditions could impact the Wednesday morning commutes. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches.

Louisiana
Flash Flood Warning remains in effect until 10 AM CST this morning

  • Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
  • Impacts: Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

Coastal Flood Advisory remains in effect until 11:59 PM CST this evening

  • Minor coastal flooding expected.
  • Impacts: Flooding of lots, parks, and roads with only isolated road closures expected.

 Flood Warning remains in effect until 2 AM CST Sunday morning

  • Moderate flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast.
  • Impacts: Major flooding will occur. Roads near the river will be affected.

Oregon
High Wind Warning remains in effect until 10 AM PST Wednesday morning

  • South winds 35 to 45 mph with gusts up to 60 mph expected. Winds up to 70 mph are possible over headlands and very exposed terrain.
  • Impacts: Damaging winds could blow down trees and power lines, and damage or blow away unsecured objects. Power outages are possible. Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

Wind Advisory remains in effect until 7 PM PST Wednesday evening

  • South winds 30 to 40 mph with gusts up to 50 mph expected. Gusts up to 60 mph are possible over the high terrain of the Warner Mountains and Winter Rim.
