  • Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

Flood Advisory remains in effect until 9 AM CDT this morning

  • Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
  • Impacts: Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water over roadways. 

Flood Warning remains in effect until 1 PM CDT Saturday afternoon

  • Moderate flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast.
  • Impacts: Moderate lowland flooding begins as roads are closed due to the water.

Virginia
Coastal Flood Advisory remains in effect until 10 AM EDT this morning

  • Up to one foot of inundation above ground level in low-lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways.
  • Impacts: Shallow flooding is expected in the most vulnerable locations near the waterfront and shoreline. Expect up to one foot of water above ground level in low lying, vulnerable areas. Some roads and low lying property near the waterfront will experience shallow flooding.

  • Visibility of a quarter-mile or less in dense fog.

Summary:
Isolated to scattered severe thunderstorms are expected to develop from the southern Plains to portions of the Midwest Friday. Damaging winds and very large hail will be the primary hazards. On the drier side of the system, critical fire weather conditions will be possible across the Southwest. Meanwhile, excessive heat concerns continue to impact portions of southern Texas and Florida. South Dakota
High Wind Warning remains in effect until 2 PM MDT this afternoon

  • Northwest winds 30 to 40 mph with gusts up to 60 mph.
  • Impacts: Power outages are possible. Travel could be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Strong winds can cause blowing dust, reduced visibility, and flying debris.

Wind Advisory remains in effect until 8 PM CDT this evening

  • Northwest winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 45 mph expected.
  • Impacts: Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. Travel could be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. 

Iowa
Flood Warning remains in effect until further notice

  • Flooding caused by excessive rainfall.
  • Impacts: Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Numerous roads remain closed due to flooding. 

Flood Watch remains in effect until 1 PM CDT this afternoon

  • Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible.
  • Impacts: Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Area creeks and streams are running high and could flood with more heavy rain. Water over roadways is possible.

Summary:
Heavy wet snow and gusty winds are expected in the higher elevations of Idaho, western Montana, and Wyoming Thursday. Meanwhile, another round of severe storms are expected to develop across the central and southern Plains. Damaging winds, tornadoes and large hail are the primary threats. Wyoming
Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 6 AM MDT Friday morning

  • Heavy snow. Total snow accumulations 1 to 2 feet. Winds gusting as high as 35 mph.
  • Impacts: Travel could be very difficult to impossible. Widespread blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility.

Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 6 PM MDT this evening

  • Snow. Accumulations of 6 to 12 inches north of Powder River pass; 2 to 6 inches south of Powder River Pass. Local accumulations up to 16 inches are possible north of Granite Pass. Winds gusting as high as 50 mph.
  • Impacts: Travel could be difficult.

High Wind Warning remains in effect until 6 PM MDT this evening

  • West winds 30 to 40 mph with gusts up to 60 mph possible.

Summary:
Strong to severe thunderstorms are expected to develop from central Texas into the Ohio Valley and Great Lakes Wednesday. Areas who will see the greatest chances for damaging hail and winds will be from north Texas to the Ozarks. Parts of south Texas and Florida will experience dangerous to extreme heat over the next several days. Dangerous heat stress may continue into early next week. Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 12:15 PM MDT Thursday afternoon

  • Impacts: Travel could be very difficult and tire chains may be required for some vehicles.

Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 6 PM MDT Thursday evening

  • Snow expected. Total snow accumulations up to 5 inches.
  • Impacts: Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the Wednesday evening and Thursday morning commutes.

Iowa
Flood Warning remains in effect until 4 PM CDT this afternoon

  • Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is occurring, and is expected to continue through early afternoon.

While some of the smaller streams have already reached their highest levels, some of the larger streams will continue to rise due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall. A developing storm across the Plains will bring rounds of severe weather for center of the nation the next couple of days. In addition, increasing temperatures and winds with low humidity values will raise wildfire concerns for portions of the Southwest. These temperatures may set new records for southern Texas this week. The northern Great Basin and northern Rockies, cooler conditions arrives. Flash Flood Warning remains in effect until 10:45 AM CDT this morning

  • Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
  • Impacts: Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

Flood Advisory remains in effect until 9 AM CDT this morning

  • Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
  • Impacts: Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water over roadways. Some low-water crossings may become impassable.

Pennsylvania 
Dense Fog Advisory remains in effect until 10 AM EDT this morning

  • Visibility one quarter mile or less in dense fog.
  • Impacts: Low visibility could make driving conditions hazardous.

Washington
Wind Advisory remains in effect until 11 PM PDT this evening

  • West winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts 45 to 50 mph expected.
  • Impacts: Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. Travel could be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

Summary:
Scattered severe thunderstorms will continue over parts of the north-central Florida Peninsula and develop in the southern Great Plains. New daily record high temperatures are expected for portions of South Florida and southern Texas the next couple of days. Flash flooding is expected in Hawaii. On Thursday, rain may cause additional flooding across east Texas and Louisiana. Impacted Lanes: I-37, I-65, I-69, I-70, I-74, I-64, I-75, I-40, I-85, I-77, I-26, I-66, I-95


Kentucky
Flash Flood Warning remains in effect until 10 AM EDT this morning

  • Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
  • Impacts: Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

Flood Advisory remains in effect until 10:15 AM EDT this morning

  • Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
  • Impacts: Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Some low-water crossings may become impassable.

Flood Warning remains in effect until 1 PM CDT Friday afternoon

  • Small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
  • Impacts: Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Water is over roadways. 

Virginia
Flood Warning remains in effect until further notice

  • Minor flooding is occurring.
  • Impacts: Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Water is over roadways. 

Coastal Flood Advisory remains in effect until 11 AM EDT this morning

  • Up to one foot of inundation above ground level expected in low-lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways.
  • Impacts: Shallow flooding is expected in the most vulnerable locations near the waterfront and shoreline. Expect up to one foot of water above ground level in low lying, vulnerable areas. Some roads and low lying property will experience shallow flooding.

South Carolina
Dense Fog Advisory remains in effect until 10 AM EDT this morning

  • Visibility one quarter mile or less in dense fog.
  • Impacts: Low visibility could make driving conditions hazardous. Visibility may change suddenly and over short distances.

California
Wind Advisory remains in effect until 10 PM PDT this evening

  • West winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts 45 to 50 mph expected.
