Flood Warning remains in effect until 9 AM CDT Thursday morning

  • Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
  • Impacts: Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Water over roadways. 

Dense Fog Advisory remains in effect until 9 AM CDT this morning

  • Visibility one quarter mile or less in dense fog.
  • Impacts: Hazardous driving conditions due to low visibility.

Georgia
Flood Watch remains in effect until 8 PM EDT this evening

  • Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible.
  • Impacts: Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Storm drains and ditches may become clogged with debris. Water may be over roadways. 

Wind Advisory remains in effect until 12:15 PM EDT this afternoon

  • Southeast winds of 20 to 25 mph with gusts up to 40 to 50 mph.
  • Impacts: Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. Travel could be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

Summary:
A wave of low pressure coinciding with a frontal boundary will focus more rainfall across the Gulf Coast states. Rainfall could be excessive with flash flooding, especially for areas that received heavy rainfall the past couple of week. Severe thunderstorms will also be possible where large hail, damaging wind gusts and a few tornadoes may occur. The Intermountain West, unsettled weather expected.   • Impacts: Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Numerous roads remain closed due to flooding. Low-water crossings are inundated with water and may not be passable.

  • Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible.

Summary:
Periods of heavy rainfall are expected across the Lower Mississippi Valley and Gulf Coast Friday. A Slight Risk (level 2 of 4) of Excessive Rainfall has been issued for portions of the Texas and Louisiana coast. A strong Pacific storm will impact the Pacific Northwest and Great Basin Friday through the weekend, bringing high elevation snow, lower elevation rain, and strong winds. Impacted Lanes: I-84, I-15, I-80, I-25, I-90, I-40, I-30, I-10, I-49


Texas
Flash Flood Warning remains in effect until 9:30 AM CDT this morning

  • Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
  • Impacts: Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

Flood Warning remains in effect until 12:15 PM CDT this afternoon

  • Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.
  • Impacts: Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Numerous roads remain closed due to flooding. Low-water crossings are inundated with water and may not be passable. It will take several hours for all the water from these storms to work through local drainage systems in urban areas.

  • Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible.

  • Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
  • Impacts: Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Rises in small streams and normally dry arroyos. Water over roadways. 

Nevada
Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 8 AM PDT Sunday morning

  • Snow Above 5000 feet. Snow accumulations up to 3 to 6 inches around the Lake Tahoe Basin, 6 to 12 inches over higher Sierra passes, and up to 10 to 14 inches of snow across the Sierra Crest above 7000 feet. Winds gusting as high as 55 mph.
  • Impacts: Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will likely become slick and hazardous. Travel could be very difficult. Very strong winds could cause extensive damage to trees and power lines.

High Wind Warning remains in effect until 11 PM PDT Saturday evening 

  • South winds 30 to 40 mph with gusts up to 65 mph expected.
  • Impacts: High winds may move loose debris, damage property and cause power outages. Travel will be difficult especially for high profile vehicles particularly along east-west routes. Blowing dust will reduce visibility.

Wind Advisory remains in effect until 2 AM PDT Sunday morning

  • South winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 55 mph expected.
  • Impacts: Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. A few power outages are possible. Travel could be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

Strong to severe thunderstorms are expected Wednesday from the Central Plains into western Texas. An Enhanced Risk (level 3 of 5) has been issued for parts of Kansas and Oklahoma. The main threats will be tornadoes, very large hail, and damaging winds. Additionally, heavy rain and flash flooding is likely across portions of the Midwest into the Central and Southern Plains. Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 12:15 PM MDT Thursday afternoon

  • Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations of between 5 and 10 inches, with up to 18 inches over the higher terrain of Glacier National Park. Winds gusting as high as 40 mph.
  • Impacts: Travel could be very difficult to impossible and tire chains may be required for some vehicles. Areas of blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility.

Critical fire weather conditions, severe thunderstorms capable of producing severe wind gusts, large hail, strong tornadoes and heavy rainfall remain on tap for the central U.S. this evening. Flash flooding is also possible for portions of the Plains and Mississippi Valley. Very large hail up to 3 inches in diameter will be possible this evening across western Kansas. Summary:
Severe thunderstorms, excessive rainfall, critical fire weather are all in the outlook today and into this last weekend of April. Very large hail, severe wind gusts, and a couple strong tornadoes will all be possible across the central and southern Plains today. Flash flooding also possible for portions of the Plains and Mississippi Valley. Critical fire weather conditions for Southern High Plains. Impacted Lanes: I-40, I-15, I-84, I-5, I-90, I-25, I-80, I-70, I-35


Montana
Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 6 PM MDT Saturday evening

  • Heavy snow possible above 6500 feet. Total snow accumulations up to 3 inches below 6500 feet, with over 12 inches possible above 6500 feet.
  • Impacts: Travel could be very difficult to impossible and tire chains may be required for some vehicles.

Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 6 PM MDT Saturday evening

  • Snow expected. Total snow accumulations up to 8 inches, with up to 12 inches possible above pass level.
  • Impacts: Travel could be very difficult to impossible and tire chains may be required for some vehicles.

New Mexico
High Wind Warning remains in effect until 1 AM CDT Friday morning

  • West winds 30 to 40 mph with gusts up to 65 mph expected.
  • Impacts: Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles like campers, vans, and tractor trailers.

Wind Advisory remains in effect until 8 PM MDT this evening

  • Southwest winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 55 mph expected.
  • Impacts: Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs may be blown down. Expect strong crosswinds on area roadways. Travel could be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. 

Arkansas
Flood Warning remains in effect until 10 AM CDT Monday morning

  • Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
  • Impacts: Minor flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Water over roadways. 

Flood Advisory remains in effect until 9:30 AM CDT this morning

  • Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
  • Impacts: Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Overflowing poor drainage areas. Water over roadways. 

Virginia 
Coastal Flood Advisory remains in effect until 4 AM EDT Friday evening

  • Up to one foot of inundation above ground level expected in low-lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways.
  • Impacts: Shallow flooding is expected in the most vulnerable locations near the waterfront and shoreline resulting in a low threat of property damage. Expect up to one foot of water above ground level in low lying, vulnerable areas. Some roads and low lying property including parking lots, parks and lawns near the waterfront will experience shallow flooding.

Summary:
Isolated strong to severe thunderstorms capable of producing large hail and damaging winds will be possible through Tuesday evening across northwest Texas. The combination of dry conditions and gusty winds have led to elevated to critical fire weather concerns across southern Colorado and Guam. Impacted Lanes: I-5, I-15, I-40, I-10, I-25, I-55, I-24, I-64


New Mexico
High Wind Warning remains in effect until 9 PM MDT Thursday evening

  • Southwest winds 30 to 40 mph with gusts up to 60 mph expected.
  • Impacts: Damaging winds may blow down trees and power lines. Power outages will be possible. Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

Wind Advisory remains in effect until 9 PM MDT Thursday evening

  • West winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 50 mph expected.
  • Impacts: Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. Travel could be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

Mississippi
Flood Warning remains in effect until 3 PM CDT Sunday afternoon

  • Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
  • Impacts: Minor flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Water over roadways. 

Maryland
Coastal Flood Warning remains in effect until 11 AM EDT this morning

  • One foot of inundation above ground level in low lying areas due to tidal flooding.
  • Impacts: Water over roadways. 

Coastal Flood Advisory remains in effect until 2 PM EDT this afternoon

  • Up to one foot of inundation above ground level expected in low lying areas due to tidal flooding.
  • Impacts: Water over roadways. Some roads may be closed. 

Missouri
Dense Fog Advisory remains in effect until 9 AM CDT this morning

  • Visibility less than one quarter mile in dense fog.
  • Impacts: Low visibility could make driving conditions hazardous.

Additional Wind Advisories include but are not limited to:  Arizona, California, and Nevada

Additional Flood Warnings include but are not limited to: Nevada, Louisiana, Texas, Indiana, Illinois, Florida, Arkansas, Kentucky, and Idaho
