Summary:
A significant winter storm will continue to bring heavy snow, strong winds, and blizzard conditions to the northern and central Plains and Upper Midwest through Tuesday morning. Isolated to scattered severe thunderstorms are forecast to develop over the Mid-South and Lower Mississippi Valley Monday afternoon and evening. Strong, damaging winds and isolated tornadoes are the main threats. Impacted Lanes: I-15, I-86, I-84, I-40, I-25, I-70, I-76, I-90, I-94, I-29, I-35, I-39, I-80, I-20, I-10, I-49, I-55, I-30, I-44, I-65, I-22


Nebraska
Blizzard Warning remains in effect until 7 AM CDT Tuesday morning

  • Blizzard conditions. Additional snow accumulations between 2 and 6 inches and ice accumulations around a light glaze. Winds gusting as high as 50 mph.
  • Impacts: Travel could be very difficult. The hazardous conditions could impact the Monday morning and evening commutes. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches.

Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 7 AM CDT Tuesday morning

  • Mixed precipitation and heavy snow. Additional snow accumulations between 4 and 10 inches and ice accumulations around one tenth of an inch. Winds gusting as high as 45 mph.
  • Impacts: Whiteout conditions are expected and will make travel treacherous and potentially life-threatening. Travel could be very difficult. Areas of blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. The hazardous conditions could impact the Monday morning and evening commutes. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches.

Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 7 AM CDT Tuesday morning

  • Mixed precipitation. Additional snow accumulations up to 3 inches and ice accumulations around one tenth of an inch. Winds gusting as high as 45 mph.
  • Impacts: Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the Monday morning and evening commutes. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches.

Tennessee
High Wind Warning remains in effect until 2 PM EDT Tuesday afternoon

  • Southeast winds 30 to 40 mph with gusts up to 80 mph possible across the higher elevations and foothills.
  • Impacts: Damaging winds will blow down trees and power lines. Widespread power outages are expected. Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

Wind Advisory remains in effect until 7 AM CDT Tuesday morning

  • Southeast winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph expected.
  • Impacts: Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. Travel could be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

New Jersey
Coastal Flood Warning remains in effect until 2 PM EDT Tuesday afternoon

  • One to two feet of inundation above ground level expected in low-lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways.
  • Impacts: Widespread roadway flooding occurs in coastal and bayside communities and along inland tidal waterways. Many roads become impassable. Some damage to vulnerable structures may begin to occur.

Coastal Flood Advisory remains in effect until 3 PM EDT Tuesday afternoon

  • Up to one foot of inundation above ground level expected in low-lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways.
  • Impacts: Flooding begins on the most vulnerable roads along tidal waterways. Some partial or full road closures are possible.

Flood Warning remains in effect until 11:15 AM EDT this morning

  • Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
  • Impacts: Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Streams continue to rise due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall. Water over roadways is expected.

Arkansas
Flood Advisory remains in effect until 9:30 AM CDT this morning

  • Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.
  • Impacts: Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent. Water over roadways. 

Wind Advisory remains in effect until 7 PM CDT this evening

  • Expect southerly winds of 20 to 30 mph sustained...with gusts over 40 mph possible.
  • Impacts: Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. Travel could be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. 

High Wind Warning remains in effect until 10 PM CDT this evening

  • Southeast winds 30 to 40 mph with gusts up to 60 mph expected.
  • Impacts: Damaging winds will blow down trees and power lines. Widespread power outages are expected. Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

Back to back storm systems will continue to bring snow to the Northern Plains and Upper Midwest over the next several days. Heavy snow will spread into eastern Montana late Saturday, then expand into the Northern Plains and Upper Midwest by Sunday night, producing significant snowfall accumulations. Hazardous travel conditions are likely. Impacted Lanes: I-5, I-80, I-15, I-40, I-10, I-35, I-44, I-37, I-94, I-90, I-69, I-96, I-75, I-86, I-95


California
Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 5 AM PDT Sunday morning

  • Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 1 to 3 feet. Winds gusting as high as 45 mph.
  • Impacts: Travel could be very difficult from delays, snow- covered roads, and chain controls. Gusty winds may bring down tree branches.

Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 11 AM PDT Saturday morning

  • Snow. Snow accumulations up to 6 inches for communities along Highway 395 and between 7 and 14 inches above 7000 feet. Locally higher totals near 18 inches are possible along the Crest between Sonora Pass and Tioga Pass. Winds gusting as high as 50 mph in the lower elevations with 70 to 90 mph gusts over ridgelines.
  • Impacts: Travel could be very difficult. The hazardous conditions could impact the Friday evening commute. Strong winds could cause damage to trees and power lines, impact recreation, and restrict travel for high profile vehicles.

Wind Advisory remains in effect until 11 PM PDT Saturday evening

  • Southwest winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts 45 to 55 mph expected.
  • Impacts: Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. Travel could be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. 

Kansas
Dense Fog Advisory remains in effect until 10 AM CDT this morning

  • Visibility as low as one-quarter mile.
  • Impacts: Hazardous driving conditions due to low visibility.

New Jersey
Flood Watch remains in effect until 2 AM EDT Sunday morning

  • Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible.
  • Impacts: Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Water over roadways is possible.

A developing Gulf Coast storm may bring heavy rain and flooding from the Southern U.S. into the Mid-Atlantic late Thursday into this weekend, meanwhile, heavy snow will be possible from the Northern Plains into the Northeast. More heavy snow is expected to overspread eastern Montana late Saturday, then expand into the Northern Plains and Upper Midwest by Sunday night, producing difficult travel. Impacted Lanes: I-15, I-90, I-94, I-29, I-35, I-81, I-95


Wisconsin
Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 4 PM CDT Friday afternoon

  • Snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 4 to 8 inches.
  • Impacts: Travel could be very difficult. The hazardous conditions will impact the Thursday morning and evening and Friday morning commutes.

Maine
Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 5 PM EDT this evening

  • Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations between 6 and 11 inches with the heaviest amounts near Route 11. Winds increasing and gusting as high as 50 mph.
  • Impacts: Travel could be very difficult. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning and evening commutes. Very strong winds could cause significant blowing and drifting of the snow. Isolated power outages possible.

Meanwhile, a strong system moving across southern Canada will trigger lake-effect snow downwind of the Great Lakes through early next week. Large damaging hail, wind gusts, and a few tornadoes remain a threat from far northeast Texas to the Ohio Valley overnight. Heavy snow will continue across portions of the central Rockies and extend into the southern Rockies overnight. A second round of heavy snow will develop over the Four Corners region tonight, continuing into the weekend.   • Snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 3 to 5 inches with up to 14 inches at elevations above 8000 feet in the North Laramie Range. Winds gusting as high as 45 mph.
  • Impacts: Hazardous travel conditions due to icy and snow packed roads. Outdoor recreation may be difficult with low visibilities and falling snow.

  • North winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 45 mph.

Washington
Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 11 PM PDT this evening

  • Heavy snow above 3000 feet. Additional snow accumulations of 5 to 15 inches.
  • Impacts: Plan on very difficult travel.

Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 11 PM PDT this evening

  • Snow. Additional snow accumulations between 3 and 6 inches above 3000 ft. Additional snow accumulations between 8 and 12 inches above 4000 ft. Winds gusting as high as 35 mph.
  • Impacts: Travel could be difficult. The hazardous conditions could impact travel Tuesday morning.

Coastal Flood Advisory remains in effect until 10 AM PDT this morning

  • Minor coastal flooding expected. Inundation of 1.5 to 2.5 feet above ground level is possible along shorelines and low- lying coastal areas.
  • Impacts: Minor coastal flooding due to tidal overflow is expected around high tide. This may lead to flooding of parking lots, parks, and roads, with only isolated road closures expected.

Flood Watch remains in effect until 5 PM PDT this evening 

  • Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible.
  • Impacts: Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Water over roadways is possible. 

Nevada
Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 11 PM PDT Wednesday evening

  • Snow and blowing snow expected. Total snow accumulations of one to four inches in Northern Elko County and 5 to 10 inches over the Ruby Mountains and East Humboldt Range. Locally higher amounts are possible. Wind gusts to 50 mph.
  • Impacts: Plan on slippery road conditions. Patchy blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning or evening commute.

Wind Advisory remains in effect until 7 PM PDT Thursday evening

  • North winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 55 mph expected.
  • Impacts: Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. A few power outages are possible. Travel could be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

Summary:
A winter storm will shift across the Canadian Maritimes Monday with gusty winds, hazardous seas, and heavy high elevation snow lingering over the Northeast states. Another front will move over the Northwest U.S. into the middle of this week bringing gusty winds and heavy mountain snow to the region. Dry, gusty winds will bring critical fire weather to the southern and central Plains Monday. Impacted Lanes: I-90, I-5, I-84, I-80, I-40, I-15, I-26, I-81, I-77, I-70, I-68, I-99, I-76, I-95, I-88, I-91, I-93


New York
Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 8 PM EDT this evening

  • Heavy snow. Additional snow accumulations of up to 4 inches, with the highest amounts north of Route 28. Winds gusting as high as 50 mph.
  • Impacts: Plan on difficult travel conditions. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches.

Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 8 PM EDT this evening

  • Snow. Additional snow accumulations up to 4 inches for a storm total of up to 3 to 9 inches. Winds gusting as high as 40 to 50 mph this afternoon, especially on east facing slopes.
  • Impacts: Travel could be very difficult. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning commute. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches.

Wind Advisory remains in effect until 11 PM EDT this evening

  • Northwest winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph.
  • Impacts: Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. Travel could be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

  • Northwest winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts of 40 to 50 mph.
  • Impacts: Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. Travel could be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

High Wind Warning remains in effect until 12 PM EDT today

  • Northwest winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts of 50 to 60 mph.
  • Impacts: Damaging winds will blow down trees and power lines. Some power outages are expected. Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

Coastal Flood Advisory remains in effect until 11:59 PM EDT this evening

  • Up to 2 to 3 feet of inundation above ground level expected in low-lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways.
  • Impacts: 2 to 3 feet of inundation above ground level is possible in low-lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways resulting in a low threat of property damage. Some roads and low lying property will experience shallow flooding.
