Summary:
Low pressure crossing the northern Plains will continue snow and gusty winds west through the northern Rockies today and rain with a risk for severe thunderstorms in the Great Lakes region. Several upper level disturbances will continue periods of heavy snow across the mountains of southern California into the Southwest and southern Rockies today into the weekend. Impacted Lanes: I-84, I-5, I-90, I-15, I-86, I-80, I-70


Nevada
Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 4 AM PST Saturday morning

  • Snow. Additional snow accumulations of 1-4 inches with locally higher amounts near Great Basin National Park.
  • Impacts: Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning or evening commute.

Nebraska
Flood Advisory remains in effect until 12 PM CST today

  • Flooding caused by snowmelt continues.
  • Impacts: Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water over roadways. River or stream flows are elevated.

New Jersey
Coastal Flood Advisory remains in effect until 1 PM EST this afternoon

  • Up to one foot of inundation above ground level in low- lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways.
  • Impacts: Flooding begins on the most vulnerable roads in coastal and bayside communities, and along inland tidal waterways. Some partial or full road closures are possible.

Arizona
Dense Fog Advisory remains in effect until 10 AM MST this morning

  • Visibility less than one mile in dense fog.
  • Impacts: Hazardous driving conditions due to low visibility.

Flood Warning remains in effect until 8 AM MST Monday morning

  • Small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.
  • Impacts: Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is occurring. In particular, Tonto Creek has flooding. Low-water crossings are inundated with water and may not be passable.

Michigan
Wind Advisory remains in effect until 10 PM EST this evening

  • West winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 45 mph expected.
  • Impacts: Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. Travel may be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

Summary:
Heavy snow is expected across the Intermountain West and Rockies today. A wet pattern will continue heavy rain and the threat for flash flooding across Puerto Rico and the U.S Virgin Islands today. Unsettled weather will continue over American Samoa throughout the next several days. Heavy rain and potential flash flooding is possible through the remainder of the week. Arizona
Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 11 PM MST this evening

  • Heavy snow above 5000 feet. Additional snow accumulations of 3 to 8 inches above 5000 feet and 8 to 16 inches expected above 6500 feet. Localized higher amounts of more than 20 inches will be possible at higher elevations. Winds gusting as high as 45 mph.
  • Impacts: Travel could be very difficult to impossible. Patchy blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning or evening commute.

Wind Advisory remains in effect until 3 PM MST this afternoon

  • Southwest winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 45 mph expected.
  • Impacts: Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. Travel could be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. 

Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 11 PM MST this evening

  • Snow expected above 5000 feet. Total snow accumulations of 4 to 8 inches. Winds gusting as high as 35 mph.
  • Impacts: Plan on slippery road conditions. Patchy blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. The hazardous conditions could impact the evening commute.

Flood Warning remains in effect until 8 AM MST Monday morning

  • Small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
  • Impacts: Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, roadways, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Streams continue to rise due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall. Low-water crossings are inundated with water and may not be passable.

  • Heavy snow. Additional snow accumulations of up to 3 inches. Winds gusting as high as 40 mph.
  • Impacts: Plan on slippery road conditions. Patchy blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning or evening commute.

  • Snow. Additional snow accumulations of up to 3 inches. Winds gusting as high as 60 mph.

High Wind Warning remains in effect until 5 PM MST this afternoon

  • West winds 30 to 40 mph with gusts up to 60 mph.
  • Impacts: Damaging winds will blow down trees and power lines. Widespread power outages are expected. Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

New Jersey
Coastal Flood Advisory remains in effect until 3 PM EST this afternoon

  • Up to one foot of inundation above ground level in low- lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways.
  • Impacts: At this level, flooding begins on the most vulnerable roads along tidal waterways. Some partial or full road closures are possible.

North Dakota
Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 12 PM CST today

  • Light freezing rain, freezing drizzle, and areas of dense fog. Ice accumulations ranging from a light glaze to as high as one tenth of an inch and visibility down to 1/4 mile.
  • Impacts: Hazardous travel due to slippery road conditions and low visibility.

Dense Fog Advisory remains in effect until 10 AM CST this morning

  • Visibility one quarter or less in dense fog.
  • Impacts: Low visibility could make driving conditions hazardous.

Montana
Dense Fog Advisory remains in effect until 11 AM MST this morning

  • Visibility one quarter mile or less in dense fog.
  • Impacts: Hazardous driving conditions due to low visibility.

Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 5 AM MST Friday morning

  • Mixed precipitation expected. Total snow accumulations of 3 to 5 inches and ice accumulations of around one tenth of an inch. Winds gusting as high as 35 mph.
  • Impacts: Travel could be very difficult with icy road conditions.

Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 11 PM MST Thursday evening 

  • Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations between 4 and 10 inches.
  • Impacts: Travel could be very difficult. The hazardous conditions could impact the Wednesday morning and evening commutes.

Texas
High Wind Warning remains in effect until 2 AM CST Thursday morning

  • Southwest winds 30 to 40 mph, with gusts up to 65 mph, are expected
  • Impacts: High winds may cause travel to be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

Wind Advisory remains in effect until 9 PM CST this evening

  • West winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 55 mph expected.
  • Impacts: Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. Travel could be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. 

Virginia
Coastal Flood Warning remains in effect until 11 AM EST this morning

  • Around two feet of inundation above ground level in low- lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways.
  • Impacts: Widespread flooding of vulnerable areas will result in an elevated threat of property damage to homes and businesses near the waterfront and shoreline. Water will be up to 2 feet above ground level in some areas resulting in a sufficient depth to close numerous roads and threaten homes and businesses. Flooding will extend inland from the waterfront along tidal rivers and bays resulting in some road closures and flooding of vehicles.

Coastal Flood Advisory remains in effect until 10 AM EST this morning

  • Up to one foot of inundation above ground level expected in low-lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways.
  • Impacts: Shallow flooding is expected in the most vulnerable locations near the waterfront and shoreline resulting in a low threat of property damage. Expect up to one foot of water above ground level in low lying, vulnerable areas. Some roads and low lying property near the waterfront will experience shallow flooding.

Flood Watch remains in effect until 4 PM PST this afternoon

  • Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible.
  • Impacts: There is a risk for dangerous flooding, especially over freeways and local roads. Creeks and streams may reach or flow over their banks. Strong flows in the rivers and creeks will increase the risk for drowning and the need for swift water rescues. Rockslides and mudslides are possible in vulnerable canyon roads and hillside communities. 

Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 10 PM PST this evening

  • Moderate to heavy snow at times. Additional snow accumulations by elevations are as follows, 1 to 2 feet above 7000 feet, 5 to 10 inches between 6000 and 7000 feet, 2 to 4 inches between 5000 and 6000 feet, and up to 3 inches between 4000 and 5000 feet. 
  • Impacts: Travel could be very difficult to impossible. Heavy snow and low visibilities with icy roads will make for dangerous driving conditions. These conditions could lead to road closures and travel delays.

  • Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues
  • Impacts: Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Rises in small streams and normally dry arroyos. Water over roadways. Some low-water crossings may become impassable. River or stream flows are elevated. Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent. 

Flash Flood Warning remains in effect until 10 AM PST this morning

  • Flash flooding caused by heavy rain.
  • Impacts: Flash flooding of urban areas, streets, underpasses and low-lying locations will likely occur this morning. Mud and debris flows, as well as rockslides are also expected, especially in and near steep terrain. There will be significant ponding of water on area roadways.

Coastal Flood Advisory remains in effect until 10 AM PST this morning

  • Minor coastal flooding expected.
  • Impacts: Flooding of lots, parks, and roads with only isolated road closures expected.

North Carolina
Coastal Flood Advisory remains in effect until 7 PM EST this evening

  • Up to one half foot of inundation above ground level in low-lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways.
  • Impacts: Shallow flooding is expected in the most vulnerable locations near the waterfront and shoreline resulting in a low threat of property damage. Expect up to one foot of water above ground level in low lying, vulnerable areas. Some roads and low lying property including parking lots, parks and lawns near the waterfront will experience shallow flooding. 

Coastal Flood Warning remains in effect until 8 AM EST Thursday morning

  • Up to 2 to 3 feet of inundation above ground level expected in low-lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways.
  • Impacts: Up to 2 to 3 feet of inundation above ground level is possible in some areas near shorelines and tidal waterways. Water over tidal roadways is expected.

Flash Flood Warning remains in effect until 9 AM PST this morning

  • Flash flooding caused by heavy showers.
  • Impacts: Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. In addition, landslides are expected.

Flood Advisory remains in effect until 9 AM PST this morning

  • Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
  • Impacts: Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. 

High Wind Warning remains in effect until 8 AM PST this morning

  • Southeast winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 60 mph expected.
  • Impacts: Damaging winds will blow down trees and power lines. Widespread power outages are expected. Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

Wind Advisory remains in effect until 8 AM PST this morning

  • Southeast winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 50 mph expected.
  • Impacts: Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. Travel could be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. 

Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 10 AM PST this morning

  • Moderate to heavy snow showers will continue this morning with additional snow accumulations 3 to 6 inches west of Highway 395, locally higher amounts of 6 to 14 inches above 6000 feet. Winds gusting as high as 40 mph.
  • Impacts: Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will likely become slick and hazardous. Whiteout conditions are expected and will make travel treacherous and potentially life-threatening.   • Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible.

Wind Advisory remains in effect until 7 AM PST Saturday morning

Summary:
Heavy rainfall and gusty winds are expected in southern Oregon to central California into early Thursday morning, and then push south into southern California through the day. Heavy snowfall is expected over the Sierra into the Intermountain West. Above average temperatures will continue across the Plains and Mississippi Valley. Impacted Lanes: I-5, I-80, I-15, I-10, I-215, I-84, I-94, I-29, I-35, I-90, I-39


California
Flood Watch remains in effect until 9 AM PST Friday morning

  • Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. A fast-moving low pressure system moving inland through southwestern California today will bring widespread moderate to locally heavy rainfall with showers continuing into tonight. 
  • Impacts: Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, roadways, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas.

Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 4 PM PST this afternoon

  • Heavy snow possible. Total snow accumulations up to 18 inches possible above 7000 feet, up to 6 inches between 6000 and 7000 feet and a dusting to 3 inches between 4500 and 6000 feet. Winds could gust as high as 55 mph.
  • Impacts: Travel could be very difficult. Strong winds could cause tree damage.

Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 10 PM PST this evening

  • Light to moderate snow expected, mainly above 6000 feet. A dusting up to 2 inches possible between 4500 and 6000 feet. Winds gusting as high as 55 mph.
  • Impacts: Travel could be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches.

Flood Advisory remains in effect until 9 AM PST this morning

  • Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
  • Impacts: Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water over roadways.

Flood Warning remains in effect until 8 AM PST this morning

  • Small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.
  • Impacts: Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Streams continue to rise due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall. It will take several hours for all the water from these storms to work through local drainage systems in urban areas. Water over roadways. 

Wind Advisory remains in effect until 2 PM PST this afternoon

  • South winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts to 55 mph expected.
  • Impacts: Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs and palm fronds could be blown down. Travel could be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

  • Visibility one quarter to one half mile in dense fog.

California
Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 12:15 PM PST Thursday afternoon

  • Heavy snow expected above 4000 feet. Total snow accumulations of 12 to 24 inches. Winds gusting as high as 50 mph.
  • Impacts: Travel could be very difficult to impossible. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning or evening commute. Strong winds could cause tree damage.

Flood Watch remains in effect until 10 AM PST Friday morning

  • Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. A strong Pacific storm will bring widespread moderate to locally heavy rainfall.
  • Impacts: Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. 

High Wind Warning remains in effect until 1 PM PST this afternoon

  • Southeast winds 35 to 45 mph. Gusts up to 75 mph on exposed ridges.
  • Impacts: Damaging winds will blow down trees and power lines. Widespread power outages are expected. Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

Wind Advisory remains in effect until 1 PM PST this afternoon

  • Southeast winds 25 to 35 mph. Gusts up to 60 mph on exposed ridges.
  • Impacts: Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. Travel could be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 10 AM PST Friday morning

  • Snow expected. Snow accumulations of 3 to 8 inches above 5000 feet west of US-395, with 8 to 18 inches for higher passes such as Fredonyer Summit and Yuba Pass. Below 5000 feet, less than 3 inches of snow are expected. Winds gusting as high as 50 mph, with a few gusts up to 65 mph for wind prone portions of US-395 Wednesday afternoon and evening.
  • Impacts: Travel could be very difficult especially near and above 5000 feet, with snowfall rates up to 2 inches per hour at times. Hazardous conditions will impact the commutes from Wednesday evening through Friday morning. Strong winds may blow down some tree limbs and a few power outages may result. 

Maryland
Coastal Flood Warning remains in effect until 10 PM EST this evening

  • Up to one foot of inundation above ground level in low lying areas due to tidal flooding.
  • Impacts: At 3.5 feet, water covers roads, is in yards, and is approaching structures.

New Jersey
Coastal Flood Advisory  remains in effect until 6 PM EST this evening

  • Up to one half foot of inundation above ground level in low-lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways.
  • Impacts: Flooding of lots, parks, and roads with only isolated road closures expected.

Iowa
Dense Fog Advisory remains in effect until 10 AM CST this morning

  • Visibility one quarter mile or less in dense fog.
  • Impacts: Low visibility could make driving conditions hazardous. Slick spots may develop on roads where the fog freezes.

Montana
Dense Fog Advisory remains in effect until 11 AM MST this morning

  • Visibility less than one half mile in dense fog.
  • Impacts: Low visibility could make driving conditions hazardous.

Freezing Fog Advisory remains in effect until 11 AM MST this morning

Much of the country will see fair weather the next couple of days with temperatures in the central and western U.S. running 10-20 degrees above average. An atmospheric river will begin to impact southern Oregon and northern California Tuesday night before expanding to central California. This system will produce widespread low elevation rain, heavy mountain snow, and gusty to high winds. Flood Warning remains in effect until 4 PM EST Wednesday afternoon

  • Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
  • Impacts: Roads may be indurated with water and are not crossable.

Flood Advisory remains in effect until 10 PM EST Wednesday evening

  • Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.
  • Impacts: At 10.0 feet, Flooding occurs in flood prone areas near and downstream from Columbia. Water may be over roadways. 

New Jersey
Coastal Flood Advisory remains in effect until 6 PM EST this evening

  • Up to one half foot of inundation above ground level in low-lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways.
  • Impacts: At this level, flooding begins on the most vulnerable roads in coastal and bayside communities, and along inland tidal waterways. Some partial or full road closures are possible.
