Summary:
A cold weather system will bring moderate snowfall to the northern Rockies and northern High Plains region Tuesday. Winter Storm watches and warnings have been issued and will go into effect for these areas starting Tuesday. Heavy rainfall and flooding as a result of strong to severe thunderstorms will be possible across the southern Plains and Upper Midwest region through Wednesday. Impacted Lanes: I-55, I-12, I-10, I-35, I-40, I-44, I-90, I-5, I-84, I-15, I-94


Washington
Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 5 PM PDT Wednesday evening

  • Heavy snow expected especially elevations above 3000 feet. Total snow accumulations between 8 and 16 inches with locally up to 2 feet above 3000 feet. A half an inch to 4 inches below 3000 feet.
  • Impacts: Travel could be challenging and difficult over mountain passes and high elevation roadways. Theses winter weather conditions will impact the Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning commutes on higher elevation roadways and passes. Low elevation locations and roadways may see seasonal conditions and caution should be taken.

Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 5 PM PDT Wednesday evening

  • Snow expected especially elevations above 3500 feet. Total snow accumulations between 5 and 10 inches above 3500 feet and 1 to 4 inches below 3500 feet.
  • Impacts: Travel could be challenging and difficult over mountain passes and high elevation roadways. Theses winter weather conditions will impact the Wednesday morning commute on higher elevation roadways and passes.

Texas
Flood Watch remains in effect until 4 PM CDT Thursday afternoon

  • Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible.
  • Impacts: Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Water over roadways. 

Louisiana
Dense Fog Advisory remains in effect until 10 AM CDT this morning

  • Visibility one quarter mile or less in dense fog.
  • Impacts: Hazardous driving conditions due to low visibility.

Summary:
Moisture from Tropical Storm Norma will aid in heavy rain potential across parts of Texas. A slight risk of excessive rainfall is forecast over the southern Plains on Tuesday and Wednesday. A few strong to severe thunderstorms capable of producing hail are possible across parts of the Upper Midwest on Tuesday. An early winter storm is likely to dump heavy snow in the Northwest Beginning Tuesday. Impacted Lanes: I-10, I-49, I-12, I-55, I-59, I-40, I-15, I-5, I-90, I-94


Montana
Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 6 AM MDT Tuesday morning

  • Snow expected. Total snow accumulations up to 1 inch below 6000 feet, with 2 to 4 inches above 6000 feet. Winds gusting as high as 40 mph.
  • Impacts: Travel could be very difficult to impossible and tire chains may be required for some vehicles. The hazardous conditions could impact the Monday evening and Tuesday morning commutes.

Louisiana
Dense Fog Advisory remains in effect until 10 AM CDT this morning

  • Visibility one-quarter to one-half mile in dense fog. Local fires producing heavy smoke will likely enhance fog density across the advised area.
  • Impacts: Hazardous driving conditions due to low visibility.

Arizona
Wind Advisory remains in effect until 11 AM PDT this morning

  • Southwest winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 45 mph.
  • Impacts: Difficult driving conditions, especially for larger vehicles traveling along roads with crosswinds. Light, unsecured objects may become airborne. Minor tree damage possible.

Summary:
A large ridge of high pressure will once again produce record high temperatures across much of the West toward the central Rockies and southern Plains on Friday. Meanwhile, isolated severe thunderstorms with damaging wind gusts and marginally severe hail are possible across parts of the Southeast, especially in Georgia and South Carolina on Friday. Impacted Lanes: I-5, I-10, I-69, I-45, I-37, I-40


North Carolina
Coastal Flood Advisory remains in effect until 3 PM EDT this afternoon

  • Up to one half foot of inundation above ground level expected in low-lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways.
  • Impacts: The lowest portions of USS North Carolina Road and Battleship Road begin to observe minor coastal flooding. Water begins to spread out of storm drains onto Water Street just south of Market Street in downtown Wilmington.

Dense Fog Advisory remains in effect until 10 AM EDT this morning

  • Visibility one quarter mile or less in dense fog.
  • Impacts: Hazardous driving conditions due to low visibility.

Unseasonable high temperatures are expected across portions of the Western U.S. including California; With the possibility of record high temperatures, heat advisories remain in effect through today. Scattered showers and breezy winds will move into the Great Lakes region later today through Friday. Impacted Lanes: I-90, I-10, I-295, I-95, I-5


South Dakota
High Wind Warning remains in effect until 3 PM MDT this afternoon

  • Northwest winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 60 mph expected.
  • Impacts: The high winds may blow down large trees and damage roofs, small outbuildings, and signs. Power outages are possible. Travel could be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Strong winds can cause blowing dust, reduced visibility, and flying debris.

Wind Advisory remains in effect until 3 PM MDT this afternoon

  • Northwest winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 50 mph.
  • Impacts: Sudden wind gusts can cause drivers to lose control, especially in lightweight or high profile vehicles. Strong winds can cause blowing dust, reduced visibility, and flying debris.

Florida
Coastal Flood Advisory remains in effect until 10 PM EDT this evening

  • Minor coastal flooding.
  • Impacts: Flooding of lots, parks, and roads with only isolated road closures expected.

A system will produce locally-heavy rain to portions of the Pacific Northwest and strong winds to parts of the northern High Plains today. A warming trend across the central and eastern portions of the U.S. is expected through Wednesday as temperatures gradually moderate from below normal to more seasonable. Impacted Lanes: I-90, I-94, I-15


Montana
High Wind Warning remains in effect until 6 AM MDT Wednesday morning

  • West winds 30 to 40 mph with gusts up to 60 mph expected.
  • Impacts: High winds may move loose debris, damage property and cause power outages. Travel will be difficult especially for high profile vehicles especially on north south highways like US 191 and Montana highway 24.

 Wind Advisory remains in effect until 6 PM MDT this evening

  • West winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 45 mph expected.
  • Impacts: Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. Travel may be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

An approaching storm for the Pacific Northwest will track inland and across the northern Plains today into Tuesday; Rainy conditions and strong winds are expected for these areas.   • Impacts: At this level, flooding begins on the most vulnerable roads in coastal and bayside communities, and along inland tidal waterways. Some partial or full road closures are possible.

A strong storm system will produce areas of high elevation snow in the Rockies; severe thunderstorms, excessive rainfall, and high winds to the central Plains; and critical fire weather in the southern Plains. Wyoming
Winter Storm Warming remains in effect until 6 AM MDT Friday morning

  • Heavy snow and gusty winds expected. Total snow accumulations of 6 to 8 inches. Winds gusting as high as 50 mph.
  • Impacts: Travel could be very difficult. Patchy blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning or evening commute. Strong winds could cause tree damage.

  • Snow expected. Total snow accumulations of up to 5 inches. Winds gusting as high as 45 mph.
  • Impacts: Plan on slippery road conditions.

High Wind Watch remains in effect until 11:59 PM MDT this evening

  • Northwest winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 55 mph possible.
  • Impacts: Damaging winds could blow down trees and power lines. Widespread power outages are possible. Travel could be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

High Wind Warning remains in effect until 1 PM CDT Friday afternoon

  • Northwest winds 30 to 40 mph with gusts around 60 mph expected.
  • Impacts: High winds may move loose debris, damage property and cause power outages. Travel will be difficult especially for high profile vehicles.

Wind Advisory remains in effect until 7 PM CDT this evening

  • South winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 45 mph expected.
  • Impacts: Gusty winds could blow around unsecured light weight objects. Small tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. Travel may be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

Another system in the Gulf of Mexico will bring some heavy rainfall, minor coastal flooding, and breezy conditions to parts of the central Gulf Coast into the Southeast. A severe weather threat will also exist near the Florida Gulf Coast. Impacted Lanes: I-5, I-10, I-15, I-40, I-17, I-25, I-76, I-70, I-80


Wyoming
Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 6 AM MDT Friday morning

  • Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 18 inches, with the highest peaks approaching 2 feet. Winds gusting as high as 50 mph.
  • Impacts: Travel could be very difficult to impossible. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning or evening commute. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches.

Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 6 PM MDT Thursday evening

  • Snow expected. Generally 4 to 8 inches expected above 9,000 feet. Totals around 12 inches across the highest terrain. 4 to 8 inches expected along Highway 28 over South Pass.
  • Impacts: Travel could be very difficult, including along Highway 28 over South Pass.

  • Significant coastal flooding expected.

Summary:
Tropical Storm Bolaven continues to approach Guam and the CNMI in the western Pacific and will pass just north of Guam between Rota and Tinian Tuesday into Wednesday CHST as a Typhoon. Heavy rain, high wind, and rough surf are expected. A disturbance in the Gulf is expected to bring heavy rainfall, minor coastal flooding, and breezy conditions to South Texas and the northern Gulf Coast midweek. Impacted Lanes: I-80, I-5, I-95


Utah 
Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 12 PM MDT Thursday afternoon

  • Snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 2 to 8 inches.
  • Impacts: Winter driving conditions are possible, especially across high elevation seasonal routes such as Monte Cristo and the Mirror Lake Highway. Lake effect snow may also bring periods of winter driving conditions to the Cottonwood Canyons. 

Florida
Coastal Flood Advisory remains in effect until 11 AM EDT this morning

  • Saltwater flooding.
  • Impacts: Saltwater flooding of low elevation streets and lots is expected. Some storm drains will overflow, and some seawalls and docks will be overtopped. Boaters can expect less clearance under fixed bridges. Motorists should remember that persistent puddles around the times of high tide are almost certain to contain a mix of saltwater. Some roads may be closed.

Dense Fog Advisory remains in effect until 10 AM EDT this morning

  • Visibility one quarter mile or less in dense fog.
  • Impacts: Hazardous driving conditions due to low visibility.

California
Wind Advisory remains in effect until 10 AM PDT Wednesday morning
