Arizona
Flash Flood Warning remains in effect until 8:15 AM PDT this morning

  • Life-threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing flash flooding.
  • Impacts: Life-threatening flash flooding of low-water crossings, creeks, normally dry washes and roads.

Flood Warning remains in effect until 6:45 AM MST this morning

  • Small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
  • Impacts: Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, roadways, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring.

Flood Watch remains in effect until 11:45 PM MST this evening

  • Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible.
  • Impacts: Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, roadways, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.

North Carolina
Coastal Flood Warning remains in effect until 12 PM EDT this afternoon

  • 2 to 3 feet of inundation above ground level in low-lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways.
  • Impacts: Up to 2 to 3 feet of inundation above ground level is possible in some areas near shorelines and tidal waterways resulting in a significant threat to life and property. Some roads and low lying property including parking lots, parks, lawns, and homes adjacent to the waterfront will experience shallow flooding.

Coastal Flood Advisory remains in effect until 2 PM EDT this afternoon

  • Up to one foot of inundation above ground level in low-lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways.
  • Impacts: Shallow flooding is expected in the most vulnerable locations near the waterfront and shoreline resulting in a low threat of property damage. Expect up to one foot of water above ground level in low lying, vulnerable areas. Some roads and low lying property including parking lots, parks and lawns near the waterfront will experience shallow flooding.

  • Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

Flash Flood Warning remains in effect until 8:15 AM PDT this morning

  • Life-threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing flash flooding.

Flood Watch remains in effect until 11 PM PDT Saturday evening

  • Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible.

Summary:
Idalia is moving up the Southeast Coast at a quick clip and is forecast to move offshore of the North Carolina Coast on Thursday. An assortment of hazards are expected to continue with Idalia across the Southeast, including storm surge and coastal flooding, tropical-storm-force winds and areas of flash, urban, and moderate river flooding with considerable impacts. Impacts from Idalia will affect freight transportation in Florida, Georgia, South Carolina and North Carolina. Impacted Lanes: I-40, I-95, I-85, I-44, I-10, I-105, I-110, I-405, I-605, I-710


North Carolina
Flash Flood Warning remains in effect until 10 AM EDT this morning

  • Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing flash flooding.
  • Impacts: Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses.

Coastal Flood Warning remains in effect until 2 PM EDT this afternoon

  • Up to two feet of inundation above ground level expected in low-lying areas near shorelines and adjacent waterways.
  • Impacts: Widespread flooding of vulnerable areas will result in an elevated threat of property damage to homes and businesses near the waterfront and shoreline. Water will be up to 2 feet above ground level in some areas resulting in a sufficient depth to close roads and threaten homes and businesses. Flooding will extend inland from the waterfront along tidal rivers and bays resulting in some road closures and flooding of vehicles.

  • Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.

California
Dense Fog Advisory remains in effect until 9 AM PDT this morning

  • Visibility one quarter mile or less in dense fog.
  • Impacts: Very low visibility will create dangerous driving conditions. Roadways affected by dense fog include Pacific Coast Highway, the 10, 105, 110, 405, 605, and 710 freeways in Los Angeles County, and Highway 101 in Ventura County.

Wind Advisory remains in effect until 9 PM PDT Friday evening

  • South to southwest winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 50 mph expected.
  • Impacts: Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. Travel could be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

Summary:
Idalia is predicted to rapidly strengthen the next day or so over the eastern Gulf of Mexico, become a major hurricane by late Tuesday/Tuesday night and reach the Gulf Coast of Florida on Wednesday. Idalia is expected to produce life-threatening storm surge inundation and hurricane conditions along parts of the Florida Gulf Coast. Flash and urban flooding are also likely from Idalia. Impacted Lanes: I-90, I-40, I-75, I-81, I-85, I-4


Florida
Tropical Storm Warning remains in effect until further notice

  • Wind: Tropical storm force winds are possible with 20-30 mph with gusts up to 40 mph
  • Impacts: Damage to porches, awnings, carports, sheds, and unanchored mobile homes. Unsecured lightweight objects blown about. Many large tree limbs broken off. A few trees snapped or uprooted, but with greater numbers in places where trees are shallow rooted. Some fences and roadway signs blown over. A few roads impassable from debris, particularly within urban or heavily wooded places. Hazardous driving conditions on bridges and other elevated roadways. Scattered power and communications outages.
  • Flooding Rain: Additional 1-3 inches, with locally higher amounts
  • Impacts: Moderate rainfall flooding may prompt several evacuations and rescues. Rivers and tributaries may quickly become swollen with swifter currents and overspill their banks in a few places, especially in usually vulnerable spots. Small streams, creeks, canals, and ditches overflow. Flood waters can enter some structures or weaken foundations. Several places may experience expanded areas of rapid inundation at underpasses, low-lying spots, and poor drainage areas. Some streets and parking lots take on moving water as storm drains and retention ponds overflow. Driving conditions become hazardous. Some road and bridge closures.

Hurricane Warning remains in effect until further notice

  • Wind: Equivalent Cat 1 Hurricane force wind: 55-75 mph with gusts to 90 mph
  • Impacts: Considerable roof damage to sturdy buildings, with some having window, door, and garage door failures leading to structural damage. Mobile homes severely damaged, with some destroyed. Damage accentuated by airborne projectiles. Locations may be uninhabitable for weeks. Many large trees snapped or uprooted along with fences and roadway signs blown over. Some roads impassable from large debris, and more within urban or heavily wooded places. Several bridges, causeways, and access routes impassable. Large areas with power and communications outages.
  • Flooding Rain: Additional 4-8 inches, with locally higher amounts
  • Impacts: Major rainfall flooding may prompt many evacuations and rescues. Rivers and tributaries may rapidly overflow their banks in multiple places. Small streams, creeks, canals, and ditches may become dangerous rivers. Flood control systems and barriers may become stressed. Flood waters can enter many structures within multiple communities, some structures becoming uninhabitable or washed away. Many places where flood waters may cover escape routes. Streets and parking lots become rivers of moving water with underpasses submerged. Driving conditions become dangerous. Many road and bridge closures with some weakened or washed out.

Storm Surge Warning remains in effect until further notice

  • Storm Surge: Life-threatening storm surge possible: The potential for 4-7 feet above ground somewhere within surge prone areas
  • Impacts: Large areas of deep inundation with storm surge flooding accentuated by battering waves. Structural damage to buildings, with several washing away. Damage compounded by floating debris. Locations may be uninhabitable for an extended period. Large sections of near-shore escape routes and secondary roads washed out or severely flooded. Flood control systems and barriers may become stressed. Major damage to marinas, docks, boardwalks, and piers. Many small craft broken away from moorings, especially in unprotected anchorages with some lifted onshore and stranded.

Coastal Flood Warning remains in effect until 8 PM EDT Thursday evening

  • Significant coastal flooding expected.
  • Impacts: Numerous roads may be closed. Low lying property including homes, businesses, and some critical infrastructure will be inundated. Some shoreline erosion will occur.

Georgia
Flash Flood Warning remains in effect until 11:30 AM EDT this morning

  • Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
  • Impacts: Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

Flood Watch remains in effect until 11:30 PM EDT Wednesday evening 

  • Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall from Tropical Cyclone Idalia is possible.
  • Impacts: Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Water over roadways is expected. 

Flood Advisory remains in effect until 10:15 AM EDT this morning

  • Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.
  • Impacts: Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water over roadways is expected. 

Delaware 
Coastal Flood Advisory remains in effect until 11:59 PM EDT this evening

  • Up to one foot of inundation above ground level expected in low-lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways.
  • Impacts: At this level, flooding begins on the most vulnerable roads in coastal and bayside communities, and along inland tidal waterways. Some partial or full road closures are possible. 

Oregon 
Wind Advisory remains in effect until 11 PM PDT this evening

  • West winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 50 mph expected.
  • Impacts: Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. Travel could be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

Meanwhile, millions are being affected by the sweltering heat and oppressive conditions in the Plains, South and Mississippi, Ohio and Tennessee Valleys.   • Impacts: Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Numerous roads remain closed due to flooding. It will take several hours for all the water from these storms to work through local drainage systems in urban areas.

Flood Watch remains in effect until 11 PM PDT this evening

  • Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible.
  • Impacts: Excessive runoff may result in flooding of small creeks, streams, roadways, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Low-water crossings may be flooded.

Flood Advisory remains in effect until 8 AM PDT this morning

  • Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is occurring.
  • Impacts: Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water over roadways. Some low-water crossings may become impassable.

Wind Advisory remains in effect until 8 AM PDT this morning

  • Southeast to south winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 40 mph.
  • Impacts: Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects and make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.

Utah
High Wind Warning remains in effect until 9 PM MDT this evening

  • South winds 30 to 40 mph with gusts up to 60 mph expected.
  • Impacts: High winds may move loose debris, damage property and cause power outages. Travel will be difficult due to crosswinds, especially for high profile vehicles and vehicles with trailers.

Wind Advisory remains in effect until 9 PM MDT this evening

  • South winds 25 to 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph expected.
  • Impacts: Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. A few power outages are possible. Travel could be difficult due to crosswinds, especially for high profile vehicles and vehicles with trailers.

Summary:
Hilary is expected to bring significant impacts to the Southwestern United States this weekend into early next week. Friday afternoon storms may produce instances of flash flooding and isolated severe gusts over parts of Arizona and Southern Utah. Isolated severe thunderstorms will be possible during the day across portions of New England. Dangerous heat will expand into the Plains. Impacted Lanes: I-40, I-95, I-84, I-190, I-495, I-90, I-95, I-91, I-93, I-87


Montana
High Wind Warning remains in effect until 9 PM MDT this evening

  • West winds 35 to 45 mph, with gusts up to 60 mph expected.
  • Impacts: Travel could be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

South Carolina
Flood Warning remains in effect until 12 PM EDT this afternoon

  • Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.
  • Impacts: Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, roadways, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Expect many areas of slow moving or standing water.

Pennsylvania
Flood Advisory remains in effect until 10:15 AM EDT this morning

  • Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is occurring.
  • Impacts: Water over roadways. Small streams and creeks are elevated and some are out of their banks including Muncy Creek.

Idaho
Wind Advisory remains in effect until 8 PM MDT this evening

  • Southwest winds 20 to 25 mph with gusts up to 40 mph expected.
  • Impacts: Gusty winds could make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Unsecured objects may be blown around. Blowing dust may reduce visibility especially along Interstate 15

California
Flood Watch remains in effect until 9 PM PDT Monday evening

  • Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible.
  • Impacts: Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Low-water crossings may be flooded. Flash flooding and water over roadways is possible as Hurricane Hillary continues to travel along it projected path.
