A dangerous heat wave will continue across parts of the central and southern Plains, Lower Mississippi Valley, and the Gulf Coast with daytime heat indices approaching or exceeding 110F. Thunderstorms, some severe, may contribute to flash flooding across portions of the Four Corners Region and the central/southern Rockies; parts of the Mid-Mississippi Valley; and the North Central Plains. Missouri
Flash Flood Warning remains in effect until 12:45 PM CDT this afternoon
- Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
- Impacts: Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas.
Flood Advisory remains in effect until 9 AM CDT this morning
- Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
- Impacts: Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water over roadways.
Flood Watch remains in effect until 10 AM CDT this morning
- Thunderstorms producing heavy rainfall may cause flash flooding.
- Impacts: Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Low-water crossings may be flooded. Water may be over some roadways.
Delaware
Coastal Flood Advisory remains in effect until 1 AM EDT Wednesday morning
- Up to one foot of inundation above ground level expected in low-lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways.
- Impacts: At this level, flooding begins on the most vulnerable roads in coastal and bayside communities, and along inland tidal waterways. Some partial or full road closures are possible.
