Summary:
Scattered severe thunderstorms capable of producing heavy rains and flooding are possible across parts of the Ohio Valley into the Northeast, and portions of the /central Plains. Widespread excessive heat advisories and warnings are already in effect across the Great Basin and Deep South, as the heat wave is expected to extend into early next week. Impacted Lanes: I-80, I-40, I-440, I-530, I-55, I-20, I-59, I-65, I-10, I-89, I-91


Mississippi
Flash Flood Warning remains in effect until 9:15 AM CDT this morning

  • Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
  • Impacts: Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

Flood Watch remains in effect until 12 PM CDT this afternoon

  • Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible.
  • Impacts: Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Extensive street flooding and flooding of creeks and rivers are possible.

Kansas
Flood Warning remains in effect until 10 AM CDT this morning

  • Flooding caused by overnight excessive rainfall continues.
  • Impacts: Even though the threat for additional rainfall has ended, very heavy rainfall that fell overnight may continue to cause flooding of low-lying and flood prone areas, low water crossings, streets, country roads, creeks, and streams through this morning. Please continue to heed any road closures, and do not drive through flooded roads.

Flood Advisory remains in effect until 11 AM CDT this morning

  • Flooding caused by excessive rainfall occurred early Thursday morning.
  • Impacts: Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water over roadways.

Summary:
Sultry temperatures, dangerous heat indices, oppressive conditions are expected to build and expand across the Southern half of the U.S. the remainder of the week, through the weekend and into early next week. Widespread excessive heat watches and warnings along with heat advisories are already in effect. Also, rain may unfortunately return later this week into completely saturated New England. Iowa
Flash Flood Warning remains in effect until 11:45 AM CDT this morning

  • Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

California
Dense Fog Advisory remains in effect until 9 AM PDT this morning

  • Visibility one quarter mile or less in dense fog.
  • Impacts: Very low visibility will create dangerous driving conditions.

Louisiana
Flash Flood Warning remains in effect until 9:45 AM CDT this morning

  • Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing flash flooding.
  • Impacts: Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses.

Flood Watch remains in effect until 4 PM CDT this afternoon

  • Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible.
  • Impacts: Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Water over roadways. 

Vermont
Flood Warning remains in effect until 2 AM EDT Thursday morning

  • Moderate Flooding is occurring.
  • Impacts:  Flooding caused by excessive rainfall has driven rivers to rise out of their banks and flood urban areas.  Water is over roadways.

Summary:
Torrential rains across parts of New England will be slow to subside and dissipate and significant flooding remains possible. Flood watches will remain in effect for much of the region through varying times on Tuesday. Severe storms are possible the next few days from parts of the Plains into the Midwest. Dangerous heat across the Southern U.S. will gradually build and expand this week. Impacted Lanes: I-35, I-30, I-20, I-40, I-44, I-89, I-87, I-94, I-90

Flash Flood Warning remains in effect until 9:15 AM CDT this morning

  • Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing flash flooding.
  • Impacts: Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses.

 Flood Warning remains in effect until 12:45 PM CDT this afternoon

  • Flooding caused by heavy rain. 
  • Impacts: Streams continue to rise due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall. Low-water crossings are inundated with water and may not be passable.

 Flood Advisory remains in effect until 11:59 PM CDT this evening

  • Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
  • Impacts: Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water over roadways. 

 Flood Watch remains in effect until 9 AM CDT this morning

The clash of a relatively strong summer cold front with an anomalous plume of tropical moisture sets the stage for a high risk of excessive rain and flooding on Monday in the Northeast. Organized areas of heavy rain with thunderstorms are expected to produce intense rain rates and the potential for significant flooding across parts of New England, especially in Vermont.   • Visibility one quarter mile or less in dense fog.

California
Wind Advisory remains in effect until 7 AM PDT Saturday morning

  • Northwest winds 20 to 35 mph with gusts up to 50 mph expected.
  • Impacts: Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects and make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.

Flood Advisory remains in effect until 4 PM PDT Saturday afternoon

  • Flooding caused by snowmelt continues.
  • Impacts: Excessive runoff from rapid snowmelt will continue to produce minor flooding of creeks, streams, and other flood-prone locations. Water over roadways.

Summary:
Strong to severe storms and heavy rain are expected from the north-central High Plains into the central Plains the next few days. Heat advisories and excessive heat warnings are in effect for several locations across the Lower 48 with some concern of a long-term heat wave in parts of the Southwest and Southern U.S. Air quality issues persist in multiple locations, especially major metro areas. New Jersey 
Dense Fog Advisory remains in effect until 10 AM EDT this morning

  • Visibility one quarter mile or less in dense fog.
  • Impacts: Hazardous driving conditions due to low visibility.

California
Flood Advisory remains in effect until 4 PM PDT Saturday morning

  • Flooding caused by snowmelt continues.
  • Impacts: Excessive runoff from rapid snowmelt will continue to produce minor flooding of creeks, streams, and other flood-prone locations. Water may be over some roadways. 

New York
Coastal Flood Advisory remains in effect until 3 AM EDT Friday morning

  • Up to one foot of inundation above ground level expected in vulnerable areas near the waterfront and shoreline.
  • Impacts: Minor flooding is expected in the more vulnerable locations near the waterfront and shoreline. Some roads and low lying properties near the waterfront will experience minor flooding.

Many areas outside of Texas will experience their most significant heat of the season thus far. Slight relief is expected this weekend for parts of Texas, the Lower Mississippi Valley, and Mid-South as temperatures trend down to near normal values. Minnesota
Dense Fog Advisory remains in effect until 9 AM CDT this morning

  • Visibility 1/4 mile or less in areas of dense fog.
  • Impacts: Hazardous driving conditions due to low visibility.

Heavy thunderstorms may bring excessive rainfall with possible flooding today and Thursday to the Southeast U.S. Excessive heat continues in Texas and Puerto Rico today then is expected to return this weekend into early next week while expanding from Texas into the northern Gulf Coast. Pennsylvania
Flood Warning remains in effect until 12 PM EDT this afternoon

  • Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
  • Impacts: Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, roadways, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring.

Flood Watch remains in effect until 11PM EDT this evening

  • Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible.
  • Impacts: Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, roadways, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Low-water crossings may be flooded. 

Virginia
Coastal Flood Advisory remains in effect until 10 AM EDT Wednesday morning

  • Between a half to one foot of inundation above ground level in low-lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways.
  • Impacts: High winds may move loose debris, damage property and cause power outages. Travel could be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles

Dense Fog Advisory remains in effect until 9 AM MDT this morning 

  • Visibility as low as a quarter mile in dense fog.
  • Impacts: Hazardous driving conditions due to low visibility.

Flood Watch remains in effect until 11 PM MDT this evening

  • Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible.
  • Impacts: River or stream flows are elevated. Water may be over some roadways. 

Flood Advisory remains in effect until 12 PM MDT Wednesday 

  • Hydrologic flooding caused by rain continues.
  • Impacts: Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, streams, roadways, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Storm drains and ditches may become clogged with debris.

New Mexico
Wind Advisory remains in effect until 8 PM MDT this evening

  • Southwest winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 50 mph expected.
  • Impacts: Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs may be blown down. Patchy blowing dust may reduce visibility to hazardous levels. Expect strong crosswinds on area roadways. Travel could be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.
