Summary:
Widespread damaging winds gusting potentially to 80-110 mph will move through portions of the southern Plains overnight including parts of Oklahoma. Embedded tornadoes are also possible, a couple of which may be strong, especially over southwest Oklahoma. A series of winter storm systems will continue moving across the Pacific Northwest and into California through Wednesday. Pennsylvania 
Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 5 AM EST Tuesday morning

  • Mixed precipitation expected. Total snow accumulations of 2 to 4 inches.
  • Impacts: Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact this evenings commute.

Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 1 PM EST Tuesday afternoon

  • Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 5 to 8 inches.
  • Impacts: Travel could be very difficult. The hazardous conditions could impact this evenings commute and also the Tuesday morning commute.

South Carolina
Dense Fog Advisory remains in effect until 10 AM EST this morning

  • Visibility one quarter mile or less in dense fog.
  • Impacts: Hazardous driving conditions due to low visibility.

Tennessee
Wind Advisory remains in effect until 6 PM CST this evening

  • Southwest winds 20 to 30 mph, with gusts up to 45 mph expected.
  • Impacts: Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. Travel could be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. 

High Wind Warning remains in effect until 11:59 PM EST this evening

  • Southwest winds 25 to 40 mph with gusts up to 60 mph expected. Locally higher gusts are possible in the highest mountain peaks.
  • Impacts: Damaging winds will blow down trees and power lines. Widespread power outages are expected. Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

California
Blizzard Warning remains in effect until 4 AM PST Wednesday morning

  • Heavy snow and strong winds expected. Blizzard conditions later this morning through Tuesday night. Total snow accumulations 1 to 2 feet lower elevations with 4 to 7 feet higher elevations. Winds gusting as high as 60 mph.
  • Impacts: Travel will be extremely dangerous to impossible with extended road closures likely. Blowing snow will cause white-out conditions at times. Downed trees and tree limbs with power outages are possible due to heavy snow and gusty winds.

Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 4 AM PST Wednesday morning

  • Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 1 to 3 feet. Winds gusting as high as 50 mph.
  • Impacts: Travel could be very difficult to impossible. Gusty winds and snow could bring down tree branches leading to power outages.

Summary:
An unusually cold winter storm will produce multiple rounds of heavy snowfall and strong winds that will lead to blizzard conditions over some of the higher terrain and mountain passes and lower snow levels where snow is unusual in California and adjacent areas. Heavy rainfall and flooding is possible in southern California. Snow, gusty winds, and ice continue to impact the Northeast. Impacted Lanes: I-80, I-5, I-70, I-40, I-69, I-30, I-65, I-840


Nevada
Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 4 AM PST Sunday morning

  • Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations 6 to 12 inches. 1 to 2 feet in mountains and passes above 5500 feet. Winds gusting as high as 40 mph.
  • Impacts: Travel could be very difficult to impossible on Highways 93 and 375. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning or evening commute. Strong winds could cause tree damage.

Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 10 AM PST Saturday morning

  • Snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 2 to 6 inches, except 4 to 12 inches above 5000 feet possible. Winds could gust as high as 35 mph.
  • Impacts: Travel could be very difficult. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning or evening commute. 

Blizzard Warning remains in effect until 10 AM PST Saturday morning

  • Blizzard conditions expected. Total snow accumulations of 4 to 10 inches for the valleys. Heavy snow, winds gusting as high as 60 mph, will cause zero visibility due to blowing and drifting snow.
  • Impacts: Travel is expected to very difficult to impossible. Widespread blowing snow with significantly reduce visibility to white out conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning or evening commute. Very strong winds could cause tree damage.

Wyoming
Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 2 PM MST Saturday afternoon

  • Blowing and drifting snow expected. Winds gusting as high as 55 mph.
  • Impacts: Patchy blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility and create slick road conditions. 

High Wind Warning remains in effect until 11 PM MST Saturday evening

  • West winds 30 to 40 mph with gusts up to 65 mph expected. Blowing snow may create visibility reductions below 1 mile at times.
  • Impacts: Mainly to transportation. Strong cross winds will be hazardous to light weight or high profile vehicles, including campers and tractor trailers.

Massachusetts 
Wind Advisory remains in effect until 7 PM EST this evening

  • Northwest winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 55 mph expected.
  • Impacts: Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. Travel could be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

Flash Flood Warning remains in effect until 9:20 AM CST this morning

  • Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms is expected or ongoing. 
  • Impacts: Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

Florida
Dense Fog Advisory remains in effect until 10 AM EST this morning

  • Visibility one quarter mile or less in dense fog.
  • Impacts: Hazardous driving conditions due to low visibility.

Two powerful winter storms will bring widespread areas of wintry precipitation from coast to coast. Heavy snow, significant icing, and blizzard conditions are possible in portions of the Upper Midwest eastward into the Northeast. New York
Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 6 PM EST this evening

  • Mixed precipitation. Additional snow accumulations of 1 to 3 inches and ice accumulations of around one tenth of an inch. TOTAL snow accumulations of 6 to 11 inches. Winds gusting as high as 35 mph.
  • Impacts: Travel could be very difficult. The hazardous conditions WILL impact the morning commute. Plan on slippery road conditions.

Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 6 PM EST this evening

  • Mixed precipitation. Additional snow accumulations of an inch or less and ice accumulations of around one tenth of an inch.

A massive winter storm will impact the Four Corners region and central Rockies into the Upper Midwest and New England the next few days, while a slowly developing storm will drop down the West Coast to deliver mountain snow and even low elevation snowfall. All of these locations will see moderate to extreme winter impacts with travel not advised in the Upper Midwest due to blizzard conditions. Arizona

  • West winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 50 to 55 mph.
  • Impacts: Hazardous driving conditions due to reduced visibility. Difficult driving conditions, especially for larger vehicles traveling along roads with crosswinds. Light, unsecured objects may become airborne. Minor tree damage possible.

High Wind Warning remains in effect until 8 PM MST this evening

  • Southwest winds 40 to 50 mph with gusts up to 60 to 70 mph expected.
  • Impacts: Very difficult driving conditions, especially for larger vehicles traveling along roads with crosswinds. Light, unsecured objects will become airborne. Moderate tree and minor structural damage possible.

Michigan
Ice Storm Warning remains in effect until 4 AM EST Thursday morning

  • Significant icing expected. Total Ice accumulations up to one half an inch. Total snow and sleet accumulations of up to one inch. Winds gusting as high as 45 mph. 
  • Impacts: Expect power outages and tree damage due to the ice. Travel could be impossible. The hazardous conditions could impact the evening commute.

Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 4 AM EST Thursday morning

  • Heavy mixed precipitation expected. Total snow and sleet accumulations of 1 to 3 inches and ice accumulations of up to four tenths of an inch. Winds gusting as high as 50 mph.

  • Southwest winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 45 mph expected. 
  • Impacts: Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. Travel may be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

  • Freezing rain. Ice accumulations around a light glaze.

Coastal Flood Advisory remains in effect until 10 AM PST this morning

  • Minor coastal flooding expected.

Summary:
Snow, sleet and freezing rain is expected to impact portions of the Great Lakes region into New England and cause hazardous travel conditions. A Kona low will produce heavy to excessive rain and significant flooding across Hawaii into the weekend. Impacted Lanes: I-86, I-90, I-290, I-490, I-390, I-87, I-81, I-95


West Virginia 
Flood Warning remains in effect until 12:45 PM EST this afternoon

  • Small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
  • Impacts: Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, roadways and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. It will take several hours for all the water from these storms to work through local drainage systems in urban areas.

Virginia 
Wind Advisory remains in effect until 4 AM EST Saturday morning

  • Northwest winds 15 to 30 mph with gusts up to 45 mph expected.
  • Impacts: Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. Travel may be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. 

Maine 
Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 10 PM EST this evening

  • Heavy snow. Total snow accumulations between 9 and 13 inches.
  • Impacts: Travel could be very difficult to impossible. The hazardous conditions could impact the Friday morning and evening commutes.

Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 10 PM EST this evening

  • Mixed precipitation. Total snow accumulations between 3 to 5 inches, sleet accumulations around one half of an inch and ice accumulations up to one tenth of an inch. Winds gusting as high as 35 mph.
  • Impacts: Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the Friday morning and evening commutes. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches.

Montana
High Wind Warning remains in effect until 1 PM MST this afternoon

  • Westerly winds 30 to 40 mph, with gusts up to 60 mph. Gusts may reach 75 mph along the immediate eastern foothills of the Northern Rocky Mountain Front.
  • Impacts: High winds may move loose debris, damage property and cause isolated power outages. Travel could be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

A narrow corridor of sleet and freezing rain from northern Missouri, northern Illinois to southeast lower Michigan. Severe thunderstorms are expected from the lower Mississippi Valley to the Ohio Valley.
