Summary:
A strong arctic front will bring heavy snow and blowing snow and high winds across the North Plains. As the front moves south, bitter cold will spread across much of the western 2/3rds of the U.S. Heavy lake effect snow will continue downwind of the Great Lakes, and heavy snow and areas with a wintry mix can be expected in southwest Alaska. Impacted Lanes: I-90, I-15, I-84, I-86, I-80, I-39, I-88


Wyoming 
Blizzard Warning remains in effect until 8 PM MST this evening

  • Blizzard conditions. Additional snow accumulations of 5 to 7 inches. Winds gusting as high as 70 mph.
  • Impacts: Extremely dangerous or impossible travel conditions due to icy, snow packed roads and near zero visibilities in falling and blowing snow.

Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 11 PM MST Saturday evening

  • Heavy snow. Total snow accumulations between 2 to 4 feet Widespread blowing snow and wind gusts up to 65 mph.
  • Impacts: Travel will become extremely dangerous or impossible due to icy, snow covered roads and significantly reduced visibilities in falling and blowing snow.

High Wind Warning remains in effect until 8 PM MST this evening

  • West winds 40 to 50 mph with gusts exceeding 70 mph at times.
  • Impacts: Damaging winds will blow down trees and power lines. Widespread power outages are expected. Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 11 PM MST Saturday evening

  • A prolonged period of moderate to heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 6 to 10 inches. Areas of blowing and drifting snow.
  • Impacts: Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the evening commute.

Kentucky
Wind Advisory remains in effect until 6 PM CST this evening

  • West-southwest winds gusting to 40 mph.
  • Impacts: Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. Travel may be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

A strong system will bring heavy snow to the Northeast and heavy lake effect snow downwind of the Great Lakes. High winds and heavy snow will develop across portions of the Northern Rockies and North and Central Plains ahead of a strong Arctic Front. Damaging Santa Ana winds continue in Southern California as high pressure strengthens over the Great Basin. Impacted Lanes: I-96, I-94, I-86, I-490, I-390, I-90, I-81, I-87, I-89, I-95, I-80, I-79, I-77


Maine
Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 7 PM EST this evening

  • Heavy mixed precipitation. Additional snow accumulations between 1 and 7 inches for a storm total of 9 to 17 inches, sleet accumulations up to one tenth of an inch and ice accumulations around two tenths of an inch.
  • Impacts: Visibilities may drop below 1/4 mile due to falling and blowing snow. Whiteout conditions are expected and will make travel treacherous and potentially life-threatening. Travel could be very difficult. The hazardous conditions could impact the Thursday morning and evening commutes. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches.

High Wind Warning remains in effect until 10 AM EST this morning

  • Southeast winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 60 mph.
  • Impacts: Damaging winds will blow down trees and powerlines. Numerous to widespread power outages are likely. Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

Flood Advisory remains in effect until 11 AM EST this morning

  • Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
  • Impacts: Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water over roadways.

Vermont
Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 7 PM EST this evening

  • Snow expected. Periods of snow will continue through the day today, and may mix with freezing rain or sleet at times early this morning. Additional snow amounts of 2 to 5 inches are expected, along with a few hundredths of an inch of ice.
  • Impacts: Travel could be very difficult. The hazardous conditions could impact this morning`s commute.

Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 7 PM EST this evening

  • Mixed precipitation expected. Periods of snow will continue through the day, mixed at times with sleet and freezing rain this morning. Additional snow accumulations will be 2 inches or less, along with a few hundredths of an inch of ice.
  • Impacts: Travel could be very difficult. The hazardous conditions could impact this morning`s commute.

California
High Wind Warning remains in effect until 10 PM PST this evening

  • Northeast winds 30 to 40 mph with gusts to 60 mph. Isolated remote gusts around 75 mph in the foothills.
  • Impacts: Damaging winds will blow down trees and power lines. Widespread power outages are possible. Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

Wind Advisory remains in effect until 10 PM PST this evening

  • Northeast winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts to 45 mph.
  • Impacts: Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. Travel may be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

Dense Fog Advisory remains in effect until 10 AM PST this morning

  • Visibility one quarter mile or less in dense fog.

  • Visibility less than one mile at times in freezing fog.

Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 11 PM EST Wednesday evening

  • Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 5 to 8 inches.
  • Impacts: Travel could be very difficult. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning and evening commute.

Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 3 PM EST Wednesday afternoon

  • Mixed precipitation expected. Total snow and sleet accumulations of 3 to 4 inches and ice accumulations of a light glaze.
  • Impacts: Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning commute. Snow will overspread the area Wednesday morning before transitioning to a wintry mix and then rain by Wednesday afternoon. The heaviest snow is expected Wednesday morning when snow rates of up to 1 inch per hour may be possible.

  • Heavy snow. Total snow accumulations of around 4 inches.

  • Snow. Total snow accumulations between 2 and 4 inches.

  • West winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 45 mph expected.
  • Impacts: Travel may be difficult. Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.

Louisiana 
High Wind Warning remains in effect until 9 PM CST this evening

  • South winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 50 mph expected.
  • Impacts: Damaging winds will blow down trees and power lines. Widespread power outages are expected. Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

Coastal Flood Warning remains in effect until 9 PM CST this evening

  • Significant coastal flooding expected, with water levels between 3 and 4 feet above normal tides, or 2 to 3 feet mean higher high water.
  • Impacts: Numerous roads may be closed. Low lying property including homes, businesses, and some critical infrastructure will be inundated. Some shoreline erosion will occur.

Coastal Flood Advisory remains in effect until 3 AM CST Wednesday morning 

  • Minor coastal flooding expected.
  • Impacts: Flooding of lots, parks, and roads with only isolated road closures expected.

A storm system will organize over the Southwestern U.S. on Monday, before becoming a large-scale winter storm system and ejecting into the southern Plains on Tuesday. This storm will impact portions of the Central, Southern and Eastern U.S. through midweek with a variety of hazards, including a swath of heavy snow and severe thunderstorms with heavy rainfall. Impacted Lanes: I-40, I-10, I-76, I-70, I-64, I-81, I-79, I-77, I-89, I-80, I-99, I-84, I-87, I-88, I-90, I-91, I-93, I-95


New Jersey
Coastal Flood Advisory remains in effect until 1 PM EST this afternoon

  • Up to one foot of inundation above ground level expected in low-lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways.
  • Impacts: At this level, flooding begins on the most vulnerable roads in coastal and bayside communities, and along inland tidal waterways. Some partial or full road closures are possible.

California
High Wind Warning remains in effect until 4 PM PST this afternoon

  • Northeast winds 35 to 45 mph with gusts up to 75 mph expected.
  • Impacts: Damaging winds will blow down trees and power lines. Widespread power outages are possible. Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

Coastal Flood Advisory remains in effect until 3 PM PST this afternoon

Summary:
A winter storm will continue to produce heavy snow and freezing rain across parts of the Northeast through Friday. This will create slick and hazardous travel with accumulating snow and ice. Another storm will develop over the Rockies and track eastward Friday into this weekend. Snow is possible north of the track from the southern High Plains toward the Northeast with heavy rain for the South. North Dakota
Dense Fog Advisory remains in effect until 9 AM CST this morning

  • Visibility one quarter mile or less in dense fog.
  • Impacts: Low visibility could make driving conditions hazardous. The fog may deposit a thin layer of ice on untreated surfaces.

Arizona 
Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 6 PM MST this evening

  • Snow expected above 3500 feet. Total snow accumulations of up to 4 inches. Winds gusting as high as 35 mph. 
  • Impacts: Travel could be very difficult. Accumulating snow will impact travel at elevations that normally do not see snow. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning and evening commute Friday. 

Flood Advisory remains in effect until 11:45 PM MST Saturday evening

  • Small stream flooding caused by a prolonged period of rainfall early in the week will continue.
  • Impacts: Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water over roadways.

Kansas
Winter Strom Warning remains in effect until 6 PM CST Saturday evening

  • Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 4 to 8 inches.
  • Impacts: Travel could be very difficult. Patchy blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. The hazardous conditions could impact the evening commute. Plan on slippery road conditions and visibility commonly reduced to one half mile.

Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 6 PM CST Saturday evening

  • Total snow accumulations of up to 5 inches north. Lower snow amounts near the Oklahoma line.

Nebraska 
Winter Strom Warning remains in effect until 11 PM MST this evening

  • Heavy snow. Additional snow accumulations of 9 to 17 inches. Winds gusting as high as 40 mph.
  • Impacts: Travel could be very difficult to impossible. Areas of blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning or evening commute.

Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 6 AM CST Thursday morning

  • Mixed precipitation expected. Total snow accumulations of up to 5 inches and ice accumulations of up to three tenths of an inch. Winds gusting as high as 35 mph.
  • Impacts: Power outages and tree damage are likely due to the ice. Travel could be nearly impossible. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning or evening commute.

California
Winter Strom Warning remains in effect until 4 AM PST Thursday morning

  • Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations below 4500 feet of 4 to 10 inches. Total snow accumulations above 5500 feet of 15 to 20 inches. Winds gusting as high as 45 mph.
  • Impacts: Travel could be very difficult. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches.

Flood Warning remains in effect until 9 PM PST this evening

  • Flooding caused by other multiple causes continues.
  • Impacts: Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Several structures are flooded and some sand bagging operations are continuing. Numerous roads remain closed due to flooding. Expect many areas of slow moving or standing water.

Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 7 PM PST this evening

  • Snow expected. Total snow accumulations of up to 6 inches below 3000 feet, up to 12 inches over the higher peaks.
  • Impacts: Travel could be very difficult. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning or evening commute.

Coastal Flood Advisory remains in effect until 10 PM PST this evening

  • Minor coastal flooding is expected or occurring.
  • Impacts: Flooding of areas is expected, including low lying lots, parks, and roads along the coast.

Precipitation will taper off in California and heavy mountain snow will spread across the Southwest, Rockies, and into the High Plains. California
Flood Warning remains in effect until 9 PM PST this evening

  • Flooding caused by other multiple causes continues.
  • Impacts: Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Several structures are flooded and some sand bagging operations are continuing. Numerous roads remain closed due to flooding. Expect many areas of slow moving or standing water.

Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 7 PM PST Wednesday evening

  • Snow expected. Total snow accumulations of up to 6 inches.
  • Impacts: Travel could be very difficult. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning or evening commute. Plan on slippery road conditions.

Flood Advisory remains in effect until 12 PM PST this afternoon

  • Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.
  • Impacts: Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Rises in small streams and normally dry arroyos. Dangerous flows over low-water crossings. Water over roadways. Some low-water crossings may become impassable. River or stream flows are elevated. Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent.

Coastal Flood Advisory remains in effect until 4 PM PST Wednesday afternoon

  • Minor coastal flooding expected.
  • Impacts: Flooding of lots, parks, and roads with only isolated road closures expected.

Texas 
High Wind Warning remains in effect until Wednesday evening 

  • West winds 30 to 60 mph, with gusts up to 80 mph, are expected
  • Impacts: Travel could be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Winds will be particularly hazardous at higher elevations where the strongest winds are likely to occur. Be especially careful driving in these mountainous areas. Blowing dust could reduce visibility across the plains.

Dense Fog Advisory remains in effect until 12 PM CST this afternoon  

  • Visibility one quarter mile or less in dense fog.
  • Impacts: Hazardous driving conditions due to low visibility.

Colorado 
Winter Strom Warning remains in effect until 5 PM MST Wednesday evening

  • Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations between 6 and 12 inches, with the potential for as much as 12 to 15 inches of snow east of I-25. Winds gusting as high as 35 mph east of I-25 with some blowing and drifting snow.
  • Impacts: Snow covered roads will make travel very difficult due to heavy snowfall on roadways. The hazardous conditions could impact the tail end of the Tuesday evening commute and will greatly impact the Wednesday morning commute. Areas of blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. Strong winds could bring down tree branches.

Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 5 PM MST Wednesday evening

  • Snow expected. Total snow accumulations between 5 and 10 inches, with up to 12 inches possible in the mountains of Summit County. Winds gusting as high as 35 mph.
  • Impacts: Snow covered roads will make travel hazardous. The hazardous conditions will impact the Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning commutes.

Pennsylvania 
Winter Weather Advisory  remains in effect until 10 AM EST this morning 

  • Freezing rain. Additional ice accumulations of a light glaze.
  • Impacts: Very slippery sidewalks, roads and bridges are possible. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning commute.

Summary:
One last moist storm system will impact parts of California today with locally heavy rain, mountain snow and gusty winds, before the system moves into the Southwestern U.S. on Tuesday and becomes a multi-hazard winter storm by midweek in the Central U.S. A large storm will remain well offshore of the East Coast today but frozen precipitation is expected in Maine and parts of New England. Impacted Lanes: I-80, I-5, I-205, I-10, I-17, I-40, I-15, I-94, I-90, I-29, I-35, I-95, I-295, I-395


California
Winter Storm Warning  remains in effect until 4 AM PST Tuesday morning

  • Snow. Additional snow accumulations of 6 to 12 inches with local accumulations of 18 to 24 inches.
  • Impacts: Travel could be very difficult to impossible. Blowing snow could reduce visibilities.

Flood Warning remains in effect until 9 PM PST Tuesday evening

  • Flooding caused by excessive rainfall and other multiple causes continues.
  • Impacts: Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Several structures are flooded and some sand bagging operations are continuing. Numerous roads remain closed due to flooding. Expect many areas of slow moving or standing water.

  • Snow. Additional snow accumulations of 2 to 4 inches.

Wind Advisory remains in effect until 4 AM PST Tuesday morning

  • Southwest winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 45 mph expected.
  • Impacts: Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. Travel may be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. 

North Dakota
Dense Fog Advisory remains in effect until 11 AM MST this morning

  • Visibility one quarter mile or less in dense fog.
  • Impacts: Low visibility could make driving conditions hazardous. The fog may deposit a thin layer of ice on roads, making them slick.
