      Summary:
      An outbreak of severe thunderstorms in the Southern U.S. is expected to continue well into the overnight hours. Severe thunderstorms are bringing strong tornadoes, very large hail, and severe wind gusts across parts of the lower to mid Mississippi Valley, Mid-South and parts of the Southeast. A few long-track strong tornadoes remain possible. Impacted Lanes: I-84, I-90, I-5

      Idaho
      Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 11 AM MST Friday morning

      • Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 8 to 16 inches, except 14 to 24 inches on ridge tops and elevations above passes. Winds gusting as high as 45 mph.
      • Impacts: Travel could be very difficult to impossible. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning or evening commute. Wind gusts as high as 45 mph will result in areas of blowing and drifting snow and dangerous conditions in the backcountry.

      Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 5 PM MST Friday evening

      • Snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 4 to 10 inches, except 8 to 12 inches on ridge tops and elevations above passes. Winds gusting as high as 45 mph.
      • Impacts: Travel could be very difficult. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning or evening commute. Wind gusts as high as 45 mph will result in areas of blowing and drifting snow and dangerous conditions in the backcountry.

      Wyoming 
      Blizzard Warning remains in effect until 2 PM MST this afternoon

      • Ground blizzard conditions. Winds gusting as high as 60 mph.
      • Impacts: Plan on slippery road conditions. Patchy blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning or evening commute. Strong winds could cause tree damage.

      High Wind Warning remains in effect until late Thursday night

      • Southwest winds 30 to 45 mph with gusts up to 65 mph possible.
        .
      • Impacts: Mainly to transportation. Strong cross winds will be hazardous to light weight and high profile vehicles, including campers and tractor trailers. There will be a high risk for vehicle blow overs, particularly along north to south oriented roadways.

      New York
      Wind Advisory remains in effect until 9 PM EST this evening

      • South winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 50 mph.
      • Impacts: Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. Travel could be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles

      High Wind Warning remains in effect until 4 PM EST this afternoon

      • South winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 60 mph expected.
      • Impacts: Damaging winds will blow down trees and power lines. Widespread power outages are expected. Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

      Lake Effect Snow Warning remains in effect until 7 PM EST Thursday evening

      • Heavy lake effect snow expected. Total snow  accumulations of 4 to 8 inches. Winds gusting as high as 45 mph.
      • Impacts: Travel could be very difficult. Areas of blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility.

      Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 10 PM EST Thursday evening

      • Snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 3 to 6 inches. Winds gusting as high as 40 mph.
      • Impacts: Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the Thursday morning or evening commute. Rain will change to snow this evening and persist through Thursday.

      Summary:
      Severe weather is forecast across the middle and lower Mississippi Valley Tuesday afternoon where tornadoes and damaging winds are expected. A strong cold front will track across the Intermountain West accompanied by strong winds, heavy snow and elevated fire weather conditions for portions of the western High Plains with heavy snow likely for Upper Mississippi Valley Tuesday.

      Impacted Lanes: I-90, I-80, I-94, 

      Washington
      Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 4 PM PST Wednesday afternoon

      • Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations between 5 and 9 inches north of Highway 28. In the mountains 10 to 15 inches of snow. Areas south of Highway 28 will see 2 to 4 inches of snow.
      • Impacts: Travel could be very difficult to impossible. Areas of blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning commutes will be impacted.

      Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 12 PM PST Wednesday afternoon

      • Snow expected. Total snow accumulations between 2 and 5 inches. Areas south of I 90 towards Othello and Mattawa will see about an inch of snow.
      • Impacts: Plan on slippery road conditions. The Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning commutes will be impacted.

      New Mexico
      High Wind Warning remains in effect until 6 PM MST this evening

      • West winds 30 to 40 mph with gusts up to 65 mph.
      • Impacts: Damaging winds will blow down trees and power lines. Widespread power outages are expected. Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

      Wind Advisory remains in effect until 6 PM MST this evening

      • West winds 25 to 40 mph with gusts up to 55 mph.
      • Impacts: Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs may be blown down. Expect strong crosswinds on area roadways. Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

      Alabama
      Dense Fog Advisory remains in effect until 9 AM CST this morning

      • Visibility one quarter mile or less in dense fog.
      • Impacts: Hazardous driving conditions due to low visibility.

      Flood Advisory remains in effect until 9 AM CST Wednesday morning

      • Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible.
      • Impacts: Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Heavy rainfall is expected across portions of  southwestern Alabama. Multiple rounds of thunderstorms will produce upwards of three to five inches of rainfall with locally higher totals possible. This may resulting in areas of flash flooding this afternoon through Wednesday morning.

      Summary:
      A cold front will push south across the Western U.S. into Tuesday with mountain snow and areas of gusty to high winds. An area of low pressure will form along this front on Tuesday and bring a potential for severe thunderstorms with tornadoes and excessive rainfall in the lower to mid Mississippi River Valley. To the north, heavy snow is possible in parts of the upper Midwest. Impacted Lanes: I-84, US-204, US-14, US-138

      Oregon 
      Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 4 PM PST this afternoon

      • Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 8 to 15 inches above 4000 feet and 3 to 7 inches below 4000 feet over the Northern Blue Mountains. Total snow accumulations of 5 to 9 inches above 3000 feet and 2 to 5 inches below 3000 feet for the Southern Blue Mountains. Winds gusting as high as 45 mph.
      • Impacts: Travel could be very difficult to impossible. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning commute. Snow will create travel issues over the passes along Interstate 84 and Highway 204.

      Winter Winter Advisory remains in effect until 4 PM PST this afternoon

      • Snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 3 to 8 inches above 4000 feet and 2 to 3 inches below 4000 feet. Winds gusting as high as 35 mph.
      • Impacts: Travel could be very difficult. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning commute. Snow will create travel issues.

      California 
      Wind Advisory remains in effect until 12 AM PST tonight

      • West winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 45 mph expected.
      • Impacts: Gusty winds and reduced visibility from blowing dust will make driving difficult. Travel may be affected on Highways 14 and 138, especially near the foothills. Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.

      New Mexico
      High Wind Warning remains in effect until 8 PM MST Tuesday evening

      • West winds 30 to 50 mph with gusts up to 70 mph possible.
      • Impacts: Damaging winds could blow down trees and power lines. Widespread power outages are possible. Travel could be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

      Wind Advisory remains in effect until 5 PM MST this afternoon

      • West winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts  up to 50 mph expected.
      • Impacts: Damaging winds could blow down trees and power lines. Power outages are possible. Travel could be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

      Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 5 PM MST Tuesday afternoon

      • Snow expected. Total snow accumulations up to 6 inches. Winds gusting as high as 55 mph.
      • Impacts: Travel could be very difficult. Tire traction will be reduced. Extend the distance between your vehicle and the vehicle in front of you. Areas of blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. Strong winds could cause extensive damage to trees and power lines.

      • Dense fog will reduce visibility to one mile or less.

      As Thanksgiving gets closer, the majority of the Lower 48 remains very quiet with only some sporadic hazards expected Wednesday. In southern California, high wind watches and wind advisories will begin Wednesday evening, as Santa Ana offshore winds develop and increase the fire weather threats. Meanwhile, the constant air stagnation issues will persist in parts of the Northwest until late week. Impacted Lanes: I-90, US-200

      California

      A system will pass through the Northwest on Tuesday to hopefully help out with the constant air stagnation issues across the region. This storm will likely produce locally heavy rain, mainly mountain snow and some gusty winds. Meanwhile, locally heavy to excessive rainfall will be possible for the eastern Florida Peninsula.       A tranquil start to Thanksgiving Week is likely with very few weather hazards. In fact, high pressure will dominate much of the Lower 48 the next few days. A couple of items being monitored on Monday, include, locally heavy rainfall possible in the eastern Florida Peninsula, continued air stagnation issues in a large portion of the Northwest and the lake effect snow event coming to an end. Impacted Lanes: US-60, US-70, US-380

      Washington
      Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 7 PM PST Tuesday evening

      • Mixed precipitation expected. Ice accumulation around one tenth of an inch. Total snow accumulations up to two inches near Leavenworth and Plain.
      • Impacts: Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the Tuesday evening commute the most.

      New Mexico
      Freezing Fog Advisory remains in effect until 10 AM MST this morning

      • Visibility one quarter to one half mile in freezing fog.
      • Impacts: Freezing fog may lead to slick conditions over bridges and culverts, including portions of U.S. Highways 60, 70, and 380. A thin coating of ice may form on walkways and other elevated surfaces.

      Prolonged heavy lake effect snow is expected to produce difficult to impossible travel, especially, downwind of Lakes Erie and Ontario. Some locations may be paralyzed by several feet of snow. A wintry mix is possible in western Texas, and much colder temps will sweep across much of the U.S. Damaging easterly winds and areas of fire weather threats will develop in northern and southern California. Impacted Lanes: I-94, I-196, I-90

      • Areas of northeast winds 25 to 40 mph with gusts up to 60 mph. Wind-prone ridgetops, peaks, and gaps may have gusts approach 70 mph.

      Michigan

      • Impacts: Travel could be very difficult due to snow and ice covered roads and visibilities reduced to near zero at times. The hazardous conditions will impact the morning and evening commutes.

      A multi-day lake effect snow event downwind of the Great Lakes may produce several feet of snow. Travel is expected to be difficult to impossible. Accumulating snow will also be possible in the northern Plains, and north and central Rockies. A Canadian cold front will usher in unseasonably cool temperatures across much of the U.S. later this week and weekend. Impacted Lanes: US-395, US-31, US-20, US-200, US-93, I-90, I-69, I-96, I-86, I-70, I-25

      Dense Fog Advisory remains in effect until 11 AM MST this morning

      • For the Dense Fog Advisory, visibility 1/4 mile or less in dense fog.
      • Impacts: Hazardous driving conditions due to low visibility.

      Freezing Fog Advisory remains in effect until 12 PM PST this afternoon

      • Visibility less than one half mile in freezing fog.
      • Impacts: Hazardous driving conditions due to low visibility and potential frost on bridges. There may also be localized areas with freezing drizzle causing slick roadways.

      High Wind Warning remains in effect until 7 PM PST Friday evening

      • East winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts to 60 mph expected at freeway level. Speeds 35 to 50 mph with gusts to 80 to 100 mph at most exposed areas such as Corbett and Crown Point.
      • Impacts: Damaging winds will blow down trees and power lines. Widespread power outages are expected. Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

      • Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 8 to 14 inches. Heaviest snow expected today and Saturday.

      • Heavy lake effect snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 2 to 4 feet in the most persistent lake snows. The heaviest snow is expected late this evening through Friday night when snowfall rates could exceed 3 inches per hour. Winds gusting as high as 35 mph with produce patchy blowing snow.
      • Impacts: Travel will be very difficult to impossible. The hazardous conditions will impact the Friday morning and evening commute. The heavy snow could also bring down some tree limbs and cause scattered power outages.

      Summary:
      Back to back storms may produce several feet of snow downwind of the Great Lakes. A coastal low may produce heavy snow in northern Maine and areas of rain, snow, and a wintery mix across the rest of the Northeast. Accumulating snow also possible for portions of the north High Plains, Midwest and upper Midwest. Offshore Santa Ana winds may cause damage and critical fire weather threats. Impacted Lanes: US-395, US-31, US-20, I-190, I-90

      Oregon
      Freezing Fog Advisory remains in effect until 8 AM PST this morning

      • For the Freezing Fog Advisory, visibility of a quarter mile or less in freezing fog.
      • Impacts: Hazardous driving conditions due to low visibility and potential frost on bridges.

      California 
      High Wind Warning remains in effect until 10 PM PST this evening

      • Northeast winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts to 65 mph. Gusts to 75 mph below the Cajon Pass in the morning.
      • Impacts: Damaging winds will blow down trees and power lines. Widespread power outages are possible. Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

      Montana
      Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until Midnight tonight. 

      • Snow expected. Total snow accumulations 1 to 3 inches at lower elevations, and 3 to 7 inches in the mountains.
      • Impacts: Plan on slippery road conditions. Areas of blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. The hazardous conditions could impact the evening commute. The snowfall could be slow to develop in some areas early this afternoon, but it will move into all areas towards evening.

      New York
      Lake Effect Snow Warning remains in effect until 1 AM EST Saturday morning

      • Heavy lake effect snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 1 to 3 feet in the most persistent lake snows. The highest accumulations will be inland from the lake across the higher terrain. Winds gusting as high as 35 mph.
      • Impacts: Travel could be very difficult to impossible. The hazardous conditions will impact the commutes from Thursday morning through Friday evening.

      Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 4 AM EST Saturday morning

      • Snow expected. Snow accumulations over the southern portion of the county will generally range from 5 to 10 inches late tonight into late Thursday night with similar snowfall expected over the northern portion of the county Friday and Friday night. Winds gusting as high as 35 mph.
      • Impacts: Travel could be very difficult. Periods of snow will result in snow covered roads and limited visibilities.

      Summary:
      A weather system will bring showers and thunderstorms from the Deep South to the Mid-Atlantic and accumulating snow and freezing rain to the Appalachians. Another system dropping south from Canada will produce snow across the Plains and Mississippi Valley. Strong high pressure will bring strong Santa Ana winds to southern California. 

      Oregon
      Dense Fog Advisory remains in effect until 9 AM PST this morning

      • Visibility less than a quarter of a mile are occurring in dense freezing fog.
      • Impacts: Dense freezing fog will result in hazardous conditions due to very low visibilities and slick road surfaces.

      California
      High Wind Warning remains in effect until 10 PM PST Wednesday evening

      • Northeast winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts to 60 mph expected. Gusts to 70 mph below the Cajon pass and near the coastal foothills of the Santa Ana Mountains.
      • Impacts: Damaging winds will blow down trees and power lines. Widespread power outages are possible. Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

       Wind Advisory remains in effect until 10 PM PST Wednesday evening

      • Northeast winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts to 50 mph expected.
      • Impacts: Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.

      Illinois 
      Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 6 PM CST this evening

      • Light snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 1 to 3 inches.
      • Impacts: Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning or evening commute.
