Summary: Severe thunderstorms are forecast Friday over the Southeast U.S. with a tornado and damaging wind threat focused over southern Alabama into western Georgia. Excessive rainfall may bring some flooding over the central Appalachians Friday. Record heat is forecast to build over the South this weekend into the middle of next week.
