Summary:
The early-season heat across portions of the Southern U.S. will continue for much of this week with more potential record high temperatures. On Tuesday, expect 90s and triple digits from the southern Plains into parts of the Lower Mississippi Valley. Also on Tuesday, strong to severe thunderstorms and locally heavy rainfall will be possible from the central Plains into the Mid Mississippi Valley.

Summary:
Scattered severe storms may produce damaging winds, hail, a few tornadoes, and isolated flash flooding from central New York/western New England southward into the Carolinas on Monday. An expansive early season heat wave will persist through the week bringing record-breaking temperatures across the Southwest through the Southern Plains through the week.

Summary:
Severe thunderstorms with damaging wind gusts, large hail, and a few tornadoes are possible tonight over parts of the eastern Dakotas, eastern Nebraska, western Iowa, and Minnesota. Heavy rain will lead to a threat of isolated flash, urban, and small stream flooding across the Northern Plains.

Severe thunderstorms will continue across the Upper Midwest into Thursday with all hazards possible. Fire weather concerns persist across eastern Colorado and the south-central High Plains with elevated to critical conditions. This region continues to be extremely dry with drought conditions and winds remaining gusty during peak heating hours.

Widespread critical fire weather threats and red flag warnings will continue through the week from the Southwest through a large section of the Four Corners region into the southern High Plains. The major weather story on Monday will be the continued critical fire weather concerns in the Four Corners region with extreme threats in New Mexico. Summary: Severe thunderstorms with tornadoes, damaging winds, hail, and heavy rainfall are expected over the southern Plains Wednesday, and Mississippi Valley on Thursday. Excessive rainfall with rainfall rates of two-inches per hour or higher could bring flash flooding. Critical fire weather conditions will continue in parts of the Southwest and southern Rockies through Wednesday.Oregon

Wind Advisory
  • Wind Advisory in effect from 11 Am to 8 PM PDT Thursday
    • Southwest winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph expected
    • Impacts: Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may results
         
 

Minnesota

  • Flood Warning in effect until further notice
    • Major flooding is occurring and major flooding is forecast

 

North Dakota
