Critical fire weather conditions will persist across parts of New Mexico, west Texas, southern Colorado, and northeast Arizona through Wednesday, then again on Sunday. Impacted: I-29, I-94, and US Highway 2 Major lanes of concern

      Summary: A threat of severe weather is expected to develop over central to southern Plains into the Ozarks Monday afternoon into the evening. Large hail, damaging wind gusts and tornadoes will be possible. Elevated to critical fire weather conditions are expected through Wednesday and again over the upcoming weekend across the Southwest.     Impacted: I-20, I-29, I-35, I-40, I-44 , I-70 ,& I-80

      Summary: Extremely critical fire weather conditions are expected to develop in southeastern Colorado Friday with critical conditions existing from the Southwest into the southern High Plains. Severe thunderstorms capable of all hazards and heavy rain are possible Friday across portions of the southern and central Plains. Heavy rain will increase river flooding in the Northern Plains.       Summary: Fire weather conditions continue on Thursday with critical concerns from eastern Arizona through much of New Mexico into the western Texas Panhandle and even elevated threats are possible in parts of the Northeast. Meanwhile, some severe storms are possible from the central High Plains into the southern Plains.       Summary: Rain, showers and thunderstorms are expected along a cold front from the Great Lakes to Texas on Monday. Some of these thunderstorms may contain damaging wind gusts and hail from western New York state to south Texas.       Summary: Dry air and gusty winds are expected to bring very dangerous wildfire-spread conditions from the western Central Plains into the Southwest. Heavy snow, strong winds, and freezing rain will impact travel across the northern Plains into Sunday. Severe thunderstorms are expected to produce all severe hazards across parts of the Great Plains into Upper Midwest.

        • West winds 20 to 35 mph with gusts up to 55 mph

      Summary: Dry, gusty winds will continue to result in elevated to critical fire weather conditions across the High Plains into the Southwest U.S. through Saturday. Severe thunderstorms will be possible across the Plains through Saturday. Conditions will remain unsettled along the West Coast and Interior Mountain West through Thursday with low elevation heavy rain and high elevation heavy snow expected

      California

      Wind Advisory / Winter Storm Warning
      • Wind Advisory now in effect until Friday morning
        • Southwest winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 50 mph expected
        • Impacts: Sudden strong wind gusts could result in the development of blowing dust across roadways. Reduced visibility may occur. Difficult driving conditions, especially for larger vehicles traveling along roads with crosswinds
      • Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 11 AM PDT Friday  
        • Heavy snow. Additional snowfall accumulations of 7 to 14 inches below 7000 feet
          • 12 to 24 inches west of Highway 89
          • above 7000 feet, additional snowfall of 18 to 30 likely

Two Pacific storm systems will bring coastal rain and mountain snow over the Northwest U.S. through most of this week.

        • Snow above 3500 feet. Additional snow accumulations of 2 to 4 inches today
