      Summary:
      Strong Santa Ana winds will bring critical to extremely critical fire weather conditions to portions of California today into Friday. Rafael has strengthened into a hurricane and is expected to enter the Gulf of Mexico by Thursday. Tropical Storm Warnings have been issued for parts of the Florida Keys. It is too soon to determine any northern Gulf Coast impacts. Impacted Lanes: I-40, I-26, I-90, I-5, I-15, I-10, I-25, I-70, I-76, I-80, I-29, I-35, I-49, I-44, I-85, I-75, I-95

      Colorado 
      Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 11 PM MST this evening

      • Heavy snow. Additional snow accumulations between 6 and 12 inches.
      • Impacts: Travel could be very difficult to impossible. Areas of blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. The hazardous conditions could impact the Wednesday morning and evening commutes.

      Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 11 PM MST this evening

      • Snow. Additional snow accumulations between 3 and 7 inches. Winds gusting as high as 35 mph.
      • Impacts: Travel could be very difficult. The heaviest snow accumulations are likely to be south of I-76, but blowing and drifting snow will be a concern along the travel corridor.

      California
      High Wind Warning remains in effect until 4 PM PST Thursday afternoon

      • Northeast winds 35 to 45 mph with gusts up to 75 mph.
      • Impacts: Damaging winds could blow down trees and power lines. Widespread power outages are possible. Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

       Wind Advisory remains in effect until 6 PM PST this evening

      • North winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph.
      • Impacts: Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

      Florida
      Tropical Storm Warning remains in effect until further notice

      • Wind: Below tropical storm force wind; Peak Wind Forecast: 20-30 mph with gusts to 35 mph
      • Impacts: Many large tree limbs broken off. A few trees snapped or uprooted, but with greater numbers in places where trees are shallow rooted. Some fences and roadway signs blown over. A few roads impassable from debris, particularly within urban or heavily wooded places. Hazardous driving conditions on bridges and other elevated roadways. Scattered power and communications outages.
      • Storm Surge: Localized storm surge possible; The potential for up to 2 feet above ground somewhere within surge prone areas.
      • Impacts: Localized inundation with storm surge flooding mainly along immediate shorelines and in low-lying spots, or in areas farther inland near where higher surge waters move ashore. Sections of roads and parking lots inundated by surge water. Driving conditions dangerous in places where surge water covers the road.
      • Flooding Rain: Peak Rainfall Amounts: Additional around 1 inch
      • Impacts: Localized rainfall flooding may prompt a few evacuations. Flood waters can enter a few structures, especially in usually vulnerable spots. A few places where rapid ponding of water occurs at underpasses, low-lying spots, and poor drainage areas. Several storm drains and retention ponds become near-full and begin to overflow. Some brief road and bridge closures.

      Flood Warning remains in effect until further notice

      • Moderate flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast.
      • Impacts: Moderate flooding occurs with water entering many structures on canals and along the river. Roads becomes inaccessible, up to 1 feet water depth on numerous roads. 

      Coastal Flood Advisory remains in effect until 8 PM EST this evening

      • Minor coastal flooding.
      • Impacts: Flooding of lots, parks, and roads with only isolated road closures expected.

      Tennessee
      Flood Advisory remains in effect until 10 AM CST this morning

      • Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.
      • Impacts: Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water over roadways. 

      Iowa
      Dense Fog Advisory remains in effect until 10 AM CST this morning

      • Visibility one quarter mile or less in dense fog.
      • Impacts: Low visibility could make driving conditions hazardous.

      Georgia
      Flood Watch remains in effect until 7 PM EST Thursday evening

      • Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible. Widespread 2 to 3 inch rainfall totals and isolated amounts over 6 inches are expected. Despite recent dry conditions, rainfall totals of this magnitude may lead to flash flooding or river flooding.
      • Impacts: Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Water over roadways.

      A storm system is bringing strong winds and heavy mountain snow to the Cascades into the Northern Rockies. Santa Ana winds and dry conditions will support elevated to critical fire weather over coastal portions of California. Snow, strong winds, blizzard conditions, and high seas are impacting Southwestern Alaska. A Tropical Storm Watch is in effect for the Florida Keys from Tropical Storm Rafael. Impacted Lanes: I-40, I-26, I-5, I-90, I-94, I-15, I-25, I-70, I-10, I-80, I-84, I-69, I-45, I-20, I-44, I-30, I-55, I-64, I-72, I-74, I-39, I-65, I-95, I-85

      Missouri
      Flash Flood Warning remains in effect until 9:30 AM CST this morning

      • Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
      • Impacts: Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

      Flood Warning remains in effect until 10 AM CST this morning

      • Small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
      • Impacts: Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Numerous roads remain closed due to flooding.

      Flood Watch remains in effect until 12:15 AM CST this afternoon

      • Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible.
      • Impacts: Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Low-water crossings and roads may be flooded.

      Montana
      Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 5 AM MST Wednesday morning

      • Total snow accumulations between 15 and 30 inches in northerly upslope favored areas, with 7 to 14 inches possible elsewhere. Winds could gust as high as 55 mph.
      • Impacts: Travel could be very difficult to impossible, and tire chains may be required for some vehicles. Widespread blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. Strong winds could cause damage to trees and power lines.

      Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 5 PM MST this afternoon

      • Snow expected above 4000 feet. Likelihood of moderate impacts from 3 to 6 inches of snow is greater than 90 percent, and up to a 50 percent chance of isolated major impacts from 6 to 10 inches or more of snow. Winds gusting as high as 45 mph.
      • Impacts: For MODERATE impacts from snow, expect disruptions to normal activities. Use extra caution while driving. These conditions could impact the Tuesday morning commute, especially over higher passes. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches.

      High Wind Warning remains in effect until 11 PM MST this evening

      • Northwest winds 25 to 35 mph, with gusts up to 60 mph.
      • Impacts: High winds may move loose debris, damage property and cause power outages. Travel could be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

      Texas 
      Flood Advisory remains in effect until 9 AM CST this morning

      • Urban area and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
      • Impacts: Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water over roadways. 

      Coastal Flood Advisory remains in effect until 6 AM CST Wednesday morning

      • Minor coastal flooding.
      • Impacts: Flooding of lots, parks, and roads with only isolated road closures expected.

      New Mexico 
      Dense Fog Advisory remains in effect until 9 AM MST this morning

      • Visibility one quarter mile or less in dense fog.
      • Impacts: Low visibility could make driving conditions hazardous.

      Freezing Fog Advisory remains in effect until 9 AM MST this morning

      • Visibility one quarter mile or less in freezing fog.
      • Impacts: Low visibility could make driving conditions hazardous. Freezing fog may deposit a thin layer of ice on overpasses and elevated surfaces, further worsening driving conditions.

      Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 11 PM MST Wednesday evening

      • Snow expected. Total snow accumulations 3 and 6 inches, with greater amounts across the peaks.
      • Impacts: Travel could be very difficult to impossible.

      Indiana
      Wind Advisory remains in effect until 3 PM CST this afternoon

      • South winds 20 to 25 mph with gusts up to 45 mph expected.

      Scattered severe thunderstorms, associated with tornadoes, large hail, and wind damage, are likely through Monday night from the Southern Plains into the Ozarks and mid Mississippi Valley. An Enhanced Risk (level 3 of 5) has been issued. Heavy mountain snow is expected to impact the higher terrain of the Pacific Northwest, Intermountain West, and Rockies for much of this week.       • Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. Rainfall amounts of 2 to over 6 inches will be possible, which may lead to river and flash flooding.

      Montana
      Blizzard Warning remains in effect until 8 AM MST Tuesday morning

      • Blizzard conditions expected. Total snow accumulations between 2 and 5 inches below 5000 feet, with 5 to 14 inches possible above 5000 feet. Winds gusting as high as 80 mph.
      • Impacts: Travel could be very difficult and tire chains may be required for some vehicles. Widespread blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. Very strong winds could cause extensive damage to trees and power lines.

      Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 5 PM MST Tuesday evening

      • Heavy snow expected above 4000 feet. Likelihood of major impacts from 6 to 10 inches or more of snow is 100 percent, and 10 to 18 inches of snow is 40 percent. Winds gusting as high as 45 mph.
      • Impacts: For MAJOR impacts from snow, expect considerable disruptions to normal activities. Dangerous or impossible traveling conditions. Avoid travel in the impacted areas if possible. The hazardous conditions could impact the Monday evening and Tuesday morning commutes, especially over higher passes. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches.

      Warm temperatures will continue across the Eastern Seaboard Friday, where record daily high temperatures may be broken. Temperatures are expected to decrease over the weekend. A storm system is expected to bring heavy rain and high elevation snow across the Pacific Northwest and into far northern California through Friday night. A cold front sweeping through the central U.S. will usher in more seasonable temperatures along with isolated severe thunderstorms in parts of the Midwest and Mississippi River Valley.       Coastal Flood Advisory remains in effect until 5 AM EDT Thursday morning

      • Minor coastal flooding.
      • Impacts: Flooding of lots, parks, and roads with only isolated road closures expected.

      Flood Warning remains in effect until further notice

      • Major flooding is occurring and major flooding is forecast.
      • Impacts: Major flooding occurs with water entering many structures on canals and along the river. Long duration flooding will occur, with levels taking weeks to months to return below flood stage. Roads becomes inaccessible, with 1 to 2 feet water depth on numerous roads.

      Summary:
      Elevated to critical fire-weather conditions are possible across parts of the central High Plains Tuesday. Elevated conditions are also possible in parts of central/northern Illinois. A strong cold front will bring record warmth to the central and eastern parts of the Nation this week. Additionally, severe storms are possible Tuesday and Wednesday from the Upper Midwest to the southern Plains. Impacted Lanes: I-26, I-5, I-15, I-10, I-17, I-70, I-25, I-80, I-90, I-94, I-20, I-35, I-44, I-29, I-49, I-12, I-55, I-59, I-40

      Wyoming
      Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 7 AM MDT Wednesday morning

      • Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations between 10 and 15 inches. North wind 20 to 30 mph with occasional gusts around 40 mph.
      • Impacts: Travel could be very difficult. The hazardous conditions could impact the Tuesday commutes.

      Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 7 AM MDT Wednesday morning

      • Snow expected. Total snow accumulations 2 to 5 inches. Highest accumulations expected near Meeteetse and Sunshine Reservoir where 6 to 10 inches could fall. North wind 15 to 30 mph.
      • Impacts: Travel could be very difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. The hazardous conditions could impact the Tuesday morning and evening commutes.

      New Mexico
      High Wind Warning remains in effect until 7 PM MDT this evening

      • Southwest winds 35 to 45 mph with gusts up to 60 mph expected.
      • Impacts: Damaging winds may blow down trees and power lines. Power outages are possible. Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

      Wind Advisory remains in effect until 7 PM MDT this evening

      • Southwest winds 30 to 39 mph with gusts up to 55 mph expected.
      • Impacts: Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs may be blown down. Expect strong crosswinds on area roadways. Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

      Florida
      Flood Warning remains in effect until further notice

      • Major flooding is occurring and major flooding is forecast.
      • Impacts: Major flooding occurs with water entering many structures on canals and along the river. Long duration flooding will occur, with levels taking weeks to months to return below flood stage. Roads becomes inaccessible, with 1 to 2 feet water depth on numerous roads. 

      Coastal Flood Advisory remains in effect until 5 AM EDT Thursday morning

      • Minor coastal flooding.
      • Impacts: Flooding of low lying areas, parks, campgrounds and roadways.

      Mississippi
      Dense Fog Advisory remains in effect until 10 AM CDT this morning

      • Visibility one quarter mile or less in dense fog.
      • Impacts: Low visibility could make driving conditions hazardous.

      Summary:
      A strong Pacific system will track across the Intermountain West early this week. Strong winds and higher elevation snow will affect the Western States. Further east, strong southerly winds will usher in record warmth for most of the central and eastern United States. The threat for rapid spread of wildfires today then increasing chance for severe thunderstorms for the center of the nation. Impacted Lanes: I-40, I-26, I-90, I-5, I-25, I-15, I-70, I-80, I-29, I-35, I-44, I-69, I-45, I-10, I-49, I-12, I-55, I-59, I-65

      Wyoming
      Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 7 AM MDT Wednesday morning

      • Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations between 10 and 15 inches.
      • Impacts: Travel could be very difficult at times. The hazardous conditions could impact the Tuesday morning and evening commutes. Impacts to South Pass expected, especially Tuesday afternoon when winds increase.

      Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 7 AM MDT Wednesday morning

      • Snow expected. Total snow accumulations up to 6 inches. Highest accumulations expected south of Cody, near Meeteetse, with totals up to 10 inches. Winds gusting as high as 35 mph.
      • Impacts: Travel could be very difficult, especially near Meeteetse. The hazardous conditions could impact the Tuesday morning and evening commutes.

      High Wind Warning remains in effect until 7 PM MDT this evening

      • Southwest winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 60 mph expected.
      • Impacts: Mainly to transportation. Strong cross winds will be hazardous to light weight or high profile vehicles, including campers and tractor trailers.

      Florida
      Flood Warning remains in effect until further notice

      • Major flooding is occurring and major flooding is forecast.
      • Impacts: Major flooding occurs with water entering many structures on canals and along the river. Long duration flooding will occur, with levels taking weeks to months to return below flood stage. Roads becomes inaccessible, with 1 to 2 feet water depth on numerous roads. 

      Mississippi
      Dense Fog Advisory remains in effect until 10 AM CDT this morning

      • Visibility of one quarter mile or less in areas of dense fog.
      • Impacts: Low visibility could make driving conditions hazardous.

      California
      High Wind Warning remains in effect until 11 AM PDT Tuesday morning

      • Northwest winds 30 to 40 mph with gusts up to 60 mph.
      • Impacts: Damaging winds will blow down trees and power lines. Widespread power outages are expected. Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

      • Northwest winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 40 mph expected.

Record heat is expected in the southern Plains into portions of the Southeast into the weekend. Impacted Lanes: I-40, I-26, I-95, I-59, I-55, I-20, I-49, I-10, I-37, I-35, I-69, I-15, I-90, I-5

      Montana
      High Wind Warning remains in effect until 3 AM MDT Monday morning

      • Southwest winds 35 to 45 mph with gusts up to 70 mph possible.
      • Impacts: High winds may move loose debris, damage property and cause isolated power outages. Travel could be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

      Florida
      Flood Warning remains in effect until further notice

      • Major flooding is occurring and major flooding is forecast.
      • Impacts: Major flooding occurs with water entering many structures on canals and along the river. Long duration flooding will occur, with levels taking weeks to months to return below flood stage. Roads becomes inaccessible, with 1 to 2 feet water depth on numerous roads. 

      Louisiana
      Dense Fog Advisory remains in effect until 10 AM CDT this morning

      • Southeast winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 45 mph expected.
      • Impacts: Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. Travel could be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

      • Visibility one quarter mile or less in dense fog.
      • Impacts: Hazardous driving conditions due to low visibility.
